openatv 7.3

I have two sf8008 one dvb-s2 the other combo.
in slot1 I have openatv 6.4
in slot2 I have openatv 7.0
I updated to 7.3 from 7.0 to position 3.
on the simple sf8008 everything went well.
on the combo the boot stops with a blue screen and restarts permanently.
I deleted all the versions and tried to install 7.3 without plugin and skin and settings: same...
I made a backup of 7.3 OK from the 1st device and restored it to the 2nd device and it worked!!!
but as soon as I want to install an update on an empty 7.2 or 7.3 slot, it does not work.
I reinstalled the original octagon boot: still the same!!
Does anyone have an idea, a suggestion?

With another image like openeight, it also does it or not ?

and after a clean install of Open ATV 7.2 or 7.3 on the same slot?

I have on my Combo
OpenATV 7.2 slot1
Define os slot2
OpenATV 7.3 slot 3
OpenATV 6.4 slot4

and everything works fine

I quickly flashed the OpenATV7.3 with settings taken from OpenATV7.2, runs without any problems (I have memory expansion for multiboot with a micro SD card)

me too - I tend not to upgrade E2 - if it aint broke, and its doing its job - leave it alone is my philosophy.


unless you use a plugin that requires a later release...

Login to the box via ssh.
type:
init 4
then:
enigma2.

Then read the output to see why it stopped.

Me too. Mine has been annoying though as the whole box just freezes after a couple of weeks of use for no reason. A reboot sorts it but...

Maybe a new version will sort it.

Of course there is a reason. Most likely a memory leak.

Best thing is to flash a recovery image. This will wipe all slots I think . And give u a fresh image

init 4
then:
enigma2.

Then read the output to see why it stopped.

Before that drastic action you should try the above.

Obviously a software problem. Try OpenViX.
