A polar mount and linear actuator would be the best option.

Also the supermount 1224 will fit that dish with the offset adapter plate.

Just for general information....I have a Stab 120 Motor taking a 1.2 Aluminium Dish with a Galvanised Iron Bracket....but I had to add two 'collar' Rings on the Motor tube so as to increase the distance from the Dish Bracket to the Motor body....also I had to punch a 4 inch hole into the bracket so as to have the motor turning smoothly when heading far East & West (otherwise the Dish Bracket would have jammed on the motor Body at either West or East ends...the collar rings wern't enough). After making these modifications everyting runs smoothly....and now almost a year have passed without any problems whatsoever....and I cover from 45 W to 68.5 E....but having said all this I still think that it would be best for you to go for a Polar mount....otherwise I believe you too have to do modifications on a Stab 120 Motor with a 1.2 Dish.

for that dish, it is advisable to use the 1224 motor as it has plenty of power to move it being 36volt

The satellite closest to your longitude that is easy to pick up, i.e 5W in your case.

Which motor did you get?

No, 0 on your motor would be 6.2022W, as that is your longitude.

That's easy then, if your receiver supports USALS. Just put in your details and send the dish to 5W, and align for it as per the sticky guides.

If no USALS, you will need to send the motor manually to about 1.2 degrees east before doing the alignment.

Sorry to butt in bilbo but I am same Lat as you and used USALS and 5W for lining up which seems to have done the trick. I think it was Robbo who recommended USALS but I have been meaning to ask should I then change over to Disceq 1.2 once the dish is setup or does it make a difference?

If you are happy with the results, just stick with USALS.

Some people claim the USALS Algorithm doesn't quite do it for them, but I suspect that merely hides small inaccuracies in their physical installation!

The Dreambox images usually have Goto X instead, which is a different name for the same thing.

Really, use what you find works easiest. I suspect that it will be Diseqc 1.2 in this case.

For AB3 @ 5° West, try 11.591v, 20000, 2/3. Nice and easy to identify, France 2, 3 & 5.
