My Dreambox has lived happily with its Vbox positioner (Edon2150) for years. I replaced the motor last year (12 inch Superjack), 1m dish).

Overnight the positioner complained with the nP error - no pulse. I check wiring continuity and replaced the reed switch to no effect.

Next step was to stick a couple of wires into the sensor inputs on the vbox and to open and close to simutale pulses (not at all sure if that had a chance of working). Still no movement of the dish.

My suspicion is that the vbox might have a fault. Is there any way to check it?

I guess the next stage might be to go back to the dish & remove the motor and try a car battery on the motor?

Any suggestions?
Cheers

Sounds like your Motor /jack/actuator has seized ..
You could try driving the motor directly with a DC supply ..like your car battery idea ..but dont hold the supply on too long ..
If the motor fails to turn ..and the dish refuses to move with the car battery attached ...disconnect it immediately ..and start thinking about stripping down the actuator ..
Rarely salvageable ..and chances are it will be water ingress thats rusted it internally on the worm drive..
..easier perhaps to simply replace it ..
let us know if it moves ..

As above, sounds like a jammed motor could be causing the fault.

I've got a Technomate V-box with a sticky relay that comes up with a no pulse error (ER2) every so often. Normally a tap with a screwdriver handle on top of the relay clears it.
