I recall bidding and buying an old radiogram from the 1930s. It was massive, but it was mainly furniture, because when you brought it down to what it was, there was hardly nowt inside.
Anyway, I paid 50p for this dirty thing; a radio, a gramaphone 78 turntable and massive speakers. I had it for two days until the, THEN, girlfriend chucked it out, smashed it up in fact with a hammer.
I don't blame her. It was totally infested with these barely visable wriggly mites called Australian hunchbacks. I know because my, THEN, brother-in-law had one of them analysed by a scientist...
