Hi all, I just bought a second hand rover digicube stc signal meter.
Does any body knows how to set them up? I’ve updated the software and downloaded tv and sat plans.
But I can’t get the live tv to work… and I don’t know how to setup the right setting for my local transmitter (sandy heath)
Any help would be greatly appreciated

When I plug an aerial lead I get signal and some other info but by looking at the videos I should be able to get the channel picture too but I only get a black screen

Quando collego un cavo dell'antenna ricevo il segnale e alcune altre informazioni ma guardando i video dovrei essere in grado di ottenere anche l'immagine del canale ma ottengo solo uno schermo nero

Nessun MPEG 4
Yes MPEG 2

I doubt that the problem is related to MPEG2/MPEG4 transponder. If the transponder uses MPEG4 you will see "HD Service" message as shown in previous post by EnoSat.

I rather think that the MPEG board is either missing, faulty or has a bad contact. The tuner is able to lock the signal and demodulate the MPEG stream. The TS is then forwarded to the MPEG board and if it is not present or broken, well, nothing shows up.

I would open the device carefully and check of all boards and cables are correctly fitted. That may solve the problem.

Also, make sure you are testing on an MPEG2 stream. Pick a transponder (DVB-S, DVB-C or DVB-T) which for sure is using MPEG2.

When I was in England years ago, NIT used frequencies with xxx.833 MHz. Is it possible that your transmitter is also shifted?

I think OP is either trolling or found a solution and "forgot" to update us...

Looking closer to his screenshot, the "Carrier" info is labeled "8KDVB-T". Also, OP did not state his location. The UK does not seem to have any DVB-T transponder at 522MHz, either. This seems to me as being some test transponder and the TS is non-standard, which is why the meter does not produce any further video, Pids or other information.

This is incorrect, I'm receiving the BBC A multiplex on this frequency

The OP mentions the Sandy Heath transmitter which carries the same channels on the same frequency :)

My bad - you are right. I checked and Sandy Heath is broadcasting DVB-T at 522MHz, probably using MPEG4 (did not find a reference to this).

Also, I checked and the Digicube does not feature a MPEG4 demodulator, but does perform measurements. I am not 100% sure if a message "HD Service" appears on the Digicube, though.

I own the HD Touch, which is a follow-up model with MPEG4 demodulator (and some other minor additional features, but otherwise looking very similar).

On my Atom Light, I don't have MPEG4, and relevant services will display the "HD Service" message. Also, I can see the NIT and list the channel names.

The OP should try a satellite transponder, for instance Astra 19.2E at 10744MHz, LH, SR22000, 5/6. This is the soon to be disabled Tagesschau24 transponder (also Arte, Phoenix, Test). This is using DVB-S and MPEG2.

But I bet that OP won't show up anymore...

In that case I revert to my initial assumption: the MPEG-decoder is broken or with bad contact.
