Then it will be the feed that is on the wideband LNB being completely incompatible with the dish design.

You could cut it off and fit another feed horn, my guess is it is better to send everything back to Sky for a full unequivocal refund, flog off the MaxView components , then look out for a Sky HD system you can buy outright.

Did you try connecting the shotgun/new cables directly to the LNB? Also have you tried your system anywhere other than your drive? If it is the LNB then send it back for refund.

Yes that's the first thing I tried, this is the second lnb from Maxview they said they could not find a fault with the first one but replaced it anyway in case it was a intermittent fault. I've had the same problem on all the caravan sites I've been to.

If you rewind the video does the interference occur exactly as it did when viewed live?

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!

VERY good point as the OP's response might help to indicate whether the problem is within, OR external to, the system!

Yes and it happens on recorded programs as well never does it at home with the fixed dish.

Yes just the same on rewind and it also does it on recorded programs.

Nobody has yet mentioned one very important factor here - the stability of the tripod. None of the photos actually show anything but the very top of the tripod and from that it appears that the tripod part would seem likely to be too small for stability with that size dish. You could try hanging something weighty to the tripod - an old photographers trick of hanging their camera bag (with all its lenses and accesories) underneath their tripods (which incidentally appear to have a lot wider legspread than the Maview tripod)

Hi its actually quite stable when on the drive I put a bag fof gravel on the legs but when away it's pegged down. And I also attach guy ropes if it's windy.

Does anybody know the collar size of a genuine sky q lnb i could go look at mine but would have to get the ladder out! there are some on ebay but no sizes mentioned.

also there is this one on Amazon

The lnb is the only thing I can see causing my problem and would like to try a different brand, it needs to be 40mm to fit my dish.

I either need to sort this out or just give up lol

Sky Q LNBs are supposed to fit inside a Raven 3 or 4 holder, which are all about 37mm. Beware though since they have gradations inside to lock the skew into place.

GT Sat GT-WB1 on Amazon. May be cheaper to source a second hand Sky dish with a Sky wideband LNB.

Or you could try and get a cheapo Zone 2 dish or even a Zone 1 as that's fully compatible with the Wideband LNB and try that .. £20 later you could solve the problem , good luck :)

I've ordered another lnb to try, the problem is I've spent quite a bit trying to get this working (still cheaper than a new one) and I find it so easy to setup always get a good signal in seconds. If the different lnb does not solve the problem I might go for another dish thanks.

Well the Labgear lnb arrived yesterday so today I put it on I had to put some tape around as it was smaller than the Maxview one and it seams to of fixed my issue I even put the original blue cables back and watched tv for nearly 2 hours in the caravan. It looks like both of the lnbs I got from Maxview were faulty or not quite compatible with sky Q.

I also got 80 strength and 90 quality with this setup. Looking forward to being able to get away in the caravan and give it a good try out!

That is an LNB designed for a Sky minidish, hence why it doesn't fit properly. However now you can demand a refund for the Maxview/Inverto LNB :)

Yes I will email them and see if I can get a refund. But I did buy it in March!
