Skybox F3/M3/F5: HD Reboot Bug Fix

Yet another Firmware update available if anyone wants it.

This time dated 25 Jan 2013 and intended to fix an HD Reboot issue.

(Don't ask, 'cos I don't know!)

Wonder what the circumstances of that bug was, ours is used primarily for the FTA HD stuff on 28E and I never noticed it reboot since we had it.

No, me neither.

I wonder if it is something peculiar to the newer F5, which uses the same Firmware as the F3 but might, of course, have some differences in hardware that engender Model specific bugs?

My F3 plays up sometimes on a reboot - it just gets itself into a boot loop with the numbers counting up on the front panel.

Think I reported it a while back in this section.

It can be a right sod to get it out of the loop..

Well there ye go - bung the new Firmware on it and see if it bricks it solves the problem!

Ah yes!

I think all versions after September last year do actually retain System Settings, TP_Prog etc, but I haven't tried it, so wouldn't trust it.

All updated, satellites, channels & cw file for the BISS channels on 53E retained

Err I dont remember YouPorn being an option on the Network Apps last time

Glad to hear all the settings etc. were retained.

Might update mine soon then - but I am trying hard to stick by the old "If it ain't broke ............." maxim!

As for YouPorn, I had noted it was now featured, but don't even use the basic YouTube facility.

Umm the upgrade has deleted my 36E channel list...

The channels scan in fine but they dont appear in the all channels list either....

53E & 42E are fine

Any ideas??

Reloading the backup channel list hasnt worked either....

Just upgraded both my F3s (I can resist everything but temptation ............. )

All is well - Channel Lists, Satellites, Settings, WiFi, USALS etc.

Dead easy.

Mine is not a lemon.

The Satellites and Favourites List Menus are much improved .................


@AS: I wonder if that's the issue with yours - Once you've highlighted a Satellite, you must scroll right to a Channel or it won't budge/select.

Yes Ivwe worked that bit out. Why the f... cant they leave things alone - they are getting as bad as bloody Microsoft changing things on upgrades.

The upgrade is sh1te. Ive now got 10 corrupt channels on 53E list which wont delete.

The box just crashed & reset and the corrupt channels have gone. I still dont have my 36E channels tho.

Avoid the latest update - its wonky!

No, it was right at the end.

WiFi is wholly unstable too.

Will revert to the devil I know in the morning: Good job I Dumped everything this moaning.

Im reverting to previous flash as well - right now!

I'll live with the boot problem until they sort it out.
