I bought my Panorama C Band LNBF on Ebay from MXMart

what was the noise figure on yours, mine also came from mxmart but is marked 17k even though advertised as 13k he says its a typo and the same as the 13k
??

Mine are both marked 13K. I trust the guy if that is what he said. He was good to do business with.

The L.O. stability is another important issue with LNBF's and the Panaroma is rock solid.

This seems to be a case of having a very good rf design engineer. The quality of performance is outstanding even though the mechanical is consumer grade.

I can confirm reception of 40° C-band with dish 120cm central Russian channels, very strong signal, in St.Petersburg (quality almost 100 per cent), regional stations weaker signal, couldn't see them at home because of long cable (70 m), but could see them in shop.

You might try a lnbf amplifier like the one Sadoun (google) sells for $4.

Many years ago, when I was repairing TV's in a shop in Sutton, (actually it was over a quarter of a century ago), each morning I would drag a 90cm dish out of the shop door and chain her to a lamp-post out front to receive the state Russian channel ORT in glorious SECAM. I think it was Gorizont at 14W but the memory is bit cloudy tonight.

Even in bad weather there was no real break-up in reception, it took a couple of school kids nicking the receiver's remote control to finally stop the channel from showing (but I managed to bowl one over at 25 yards with a D-cell to the back of the head, Crocodile Dundee style)

Walrus1957 came up with an increase from 45sq to 70sq by adding a socket (tool set) at 3 O'clock on the flat scalar next to the feedhorn mouth. He claims it works better then conical or cone scalars he has tested.

Minimo added a 1/2" spacer to the BSC621 C/Ku lnbf and claims a Ku gain of 40 sq.

Walrus have you got pictures of the socket (tool set) and it's location. ?????

Minimo did you happen to take pictures of the insert part before you gooped it up with RTV sealant

I also have a BSC-621 that is really poor on the KU side C-band is great but after the switch to digital there is less and less for good channels. I also have access to a small machine shop to make small parts, perks of being SEMI-RETIRED I only work when I want to.

No one has confirmed the spacer works at this time but I believe the OP is sincere. This is an improvement that the OEM is willing to incorporate into new product if improvement can be confirmed.

The OP's spacer was plastic with foil liner.

a full metal spacer to match the inner diameter and OD of feedhorn might be better.

Another approach might be to use a strip of aluminum window flashing and roll it up to the proper dimensions. I'm a fan of superglue and that could be used to hold the coil together.

It must have been. Apparently you could get a watchable signal in London, with a bit of fiddling, on a 60cm!

It would have been perfect otherwise the phone in Moscow would be buzzing with angry complaints from the embassies, defectors, Oxbridge university, GCHQ and old uncle Tom Cobbley and all. Mind you, I can't see the BBC being as kind...
