Sun is acting up

A continuous string of spots that will send stuff out this way starting Wednesday.

A couple of pics taken last night by one of my work colleagues about 5 miles from here. I saw absolutely nothing :-doh

The hills in the second pic are The Eildons near Melrose & the bright red light left of pic is one of the anti collision beacons on Selkirk TV mast :D.

A friend ten miles from me in Ashton near Preston was lucky enough to capture this tonight, faint but definitely there

Fab views of tonights aurora here in Kelso. This is the first time Ive ever tried auroral photography & I think they have come out ok.

Camera settings: 2.5 second exposure / f3.5 / iso 6400

Of course the camera pics the colours up much better than the human eye but the reds & greens were easily visible to the naked eye

The Sun had a small burp last night, the green line almost hit the warning threshold...

Might get some good auroras out of this one.
