Laminas 1.2M fibre dish with an IBU, on a Clarke Tech USALS motor, covering 57E - 24.5W to an Octagon SX88. Displayed on a 20" Dyon LED TV.

Seperate 80 cm dish on 28E with a Humax Freesat for SWMBO.
Free Sat V8 meter. Sony Bravia 46" LCD, Sony BluRay and Home Cinema.

FYI, my current motorised setup of 1.2M Laminas on a Clark Tech USAL's motor works really well. The 1M Gibertini would be a close second if you require a less obtrusive setup.

With my Triax TD115, the arm was hanging 2 cm lower than where the calculated focal point was.
(see, in dutch: Triax TD115 met te korte arm? )
I'm curious if this is the case with other Triax dishes, also...

I found that the performance of my TD88 improved substantially when a spare IKEA plastic spacer from a kitchen unit was inserted under the LNB arm to raise it towards the dish face.

So, the message would indeed be: Measure your dish, and calcultate focal point. Also with 'common' dishes like Triax!
And it is good, that a Triax arm is easily adapted, with just a spacer.

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
Try to buy direct or at least from the continent, you could end up with a right mongrel from 'authorised' UK dealers as some have discovered
That's seems to certainly true - there are a few "examples" of members on this website having bought those "mongrels"!

Or even, carefully, maybe buy a genuine s/h "full spec" Gibby of your choice?

Avoid the bigger Triax dishes - the elevation adjustments are a right pita to fine tune. I have enough problems with them at ground level - gawd only knows how installers cope up a ladder!

With that I can only, with "experience", agree from issues with my dishes at "ground level" :( - as I hope my earlier posts might have implied :)

If you start with four arms there is a fair chance you have enough after one gets amputated in the process of assembly.

Anyone from UK purchased from them? They seem like genuine sellers of Gibertini dishes.

Though I'm not in the UK, I've used them on several occasions and the service has been great..

How much of an impact does choosing the right sat receiver have on signal quality, for example a TM 5402 receiver or VU+ receiver? Are there receivers that provide a better lock on sat signal than others, or are there sat receivers that can show picture even on 10% signal quality?

The Octagon SX88+ with the 100cm will find & lock onto signals that other receivers cannot with the Blind Scan so is ideal for feeds,
For example:-
21.5 east Flowers Int HD 11237 H 2582
15 west MSNBC SD 12582 H 1300

Thanks for the useful info. I have read about this sat receiver and will purchase it. I still have my Humax 5400 irci from over 20 years ago and it still works, can i make any use of that? I suppose usals wont work on it.

USALS will work on most receivers certainly works on the SX88+ & if I recall it worked OK on my old Humax 5400 IRCI Z.
