A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Furthest East I could get from here was 72.5 East (when there was a satellite there of course), about three degrees above the horizon

Hello!
in wintertime, reception of thaicom, because of the low temperature is always better!
since the satellite change of thaicom 5,the signal is much weaker!
thaicom 5 usaly used in thailand also for 2 way internet service,in some areas,i see on a prosepekt 1,80m dish is using for the dataservice of thaicom 5!

@vladan10, @Lassesparabol or others; can you pick up 78.5E? If yes, can you confirm that 3665H (TVK) and 3640H are really Global beam? I get all other Global beam channels with quite good signal but no life for these 2 freq.

Yep! Can you confirm that these 2 freq. really use I mean are these really there and using H global beam? Evidently they are on Global beam but only wonder why I cant get any sign of life from both frequencies. Others give Ok signals, specially 3696H (Kctv).

Ok Thank You! Not really interest about that 3640 as "normal ku-band" channels but 3665H (as listed on Lyngsat) would be cool catch. And sure been tryed it quite many times and nothing ever. Now you showed that there isn´t TVK. Good to knows that.

That kambodza been sometimes on 13E if I remember right (partial time with Myanmar or something)? :) I am "channel collector" and thats my interest, thought dont understand a word from that channel.I have kambodza "country point" from 75E Bayon Tv but 2nd would be ok also.

The channel on Hot Bird 10815H with time sharing:
07-09 UTC: TVKhmer, 09-17 UTC: Myanmar International, 17-07 UTC: Universal TV

According wiki, TVK does not broadcast 24h, maybe 3665H switches off inbetween?

Maybe nothing special but for me its sounds quite Exotic MTV South East Asia (3520H, 78.5E) and I watching it on Finland. Specially with plate inside Lnb though its horizontal, so quite strong signal.
Next new MTV maybe from New Zealand :-rofl2

I'm slightly jealous, my mother is Thai and would be great if we could pick these up in the UK. We have to make due with iptv instead.

Hope iptv work also Ok. Interesting satellite this because of sooo many channels here and only from Global beam. I´m jealous for dx-Bozoth because he also see veeery many regional beam channels (and sure lot of others) :-yawn

The iptv is rock solid, probably because the server are located in Europe and the US. Only downside is you've got to pay but it's still really cheap so can't complain. Bozoth does seem to be really lucky :)

According last TLE, it looks like Asiasat 7 (launched 2011) was relocated near 78.6 East, so joining Thaicom 5.
Asiasat and Thaicom have known agreements for the 120 East slot.
Asiasat 7 should replace AsiaSat 3S at 105.5 East in late 2014. Maybe until then, it will be put to use at 78.6 East?
