We will have to wait til Thursday whether Scotland is still in the UK. I think I saw on another forum a morrocan person was able to pick this up and they have a similar longitude to where I am. I guess it's one of those things where I don't know until I've tried. Can't recall seeing reports of success with anything at all from that position: Surely it is way beyond the effective horizon relative to UK (inc. Scotland)?
Ahh, sorry! I can't see people's profiles from Tapeworm Talk on the phone, so I assumed he was oop noorf. He lives by the South Coast of England, CJ.
Not an issue in Morocco, as far as 'seeing' the satellite goes, but it's much closer to the equator, where the satellites float 36000 km above, which means they have a much wider view of the arc there.I think I saw on another forum a morrocan person was able to pick this up and they have a similar longitude to where I am. I've looked on dish pointer websites and they say my elavation is minus which is like you said the horizon for the satellite but what if I put the dish on top of a skyscraper for example, would that work? (it's a bit far fetched)
