Tidied up the SL3 construct a bit ..
Sadly can't get anything from Newsnet atm ..
Blank screen for me most of the day ..and wildly erratic signals which were about 10.7db this morning ..and still occasionally over 9db this evening ..
Just no broadcasts ???
System failure their end ..or my system failed ..
who knows.
A couple of crazyscans to show that the \ / plates are doing their job ...biased for V left port and H right port ...
and some photos of my assembly which is at least for now ...weatherproof enough ...though a better lnb cap is needed imo.

VS, nice Job. Something is amiss, Newsnet is very strong with me at the mo. Have you got the same LNB as Llew and myself, the 01 version with the rounded ports all the the way from the scalar rings to the septum that you could try? works well with me, perhaps you already have tried it.

It's been pretty consistent with the Newsnet feeds on my SL3-01 today VS.

Newsnet office rarely below 12dB. That one at time of capturing, a lonely lass in the studio.

VS, nice Job. Something is amiss, Newsnet is very strong with me at the mo. Have you got the same LNB as Llew and myself, the 01 version with the rounded ports all the the way from the scalar rings to the septum that you could try? works well with me, perhaps you already have tried it.

This as happened here before ..
Signal currently not at it's best but usually sufficient for a lock around 8db ...but not tonight ..
Most likely picking up FFFFing 4G again ..
it's already put paid to dxing a section of arc in Cband...
I HATE MOBILE PHONES and the crappy towers they keep erecting everywhere..
Maybe I'm wrong ..but I have my suspicions..

Good point VS. Our bloody DECT phone wipes out Newsnet if you get it with about 2 metres of the receiver.

I must be in a hash-free hollow - this on my TD88.

As with scopus, fine-tuning of the dielectric gets me H and V, albeit a dB or two down. My Skystar card doesn't do ACM, so I can't see the carrier adjacent to Newsnet.

Strange phenomenon overhere , trying to get signal at Hylas with the SL3K (left port 22 kHz on) connected to my Spaun SUR 410F at port 3 without the BBC , nothing there with blindscan .
Going back to Turksat ( still no BBC inline) immediately picture ??
Port4 of the Spaun is connected to the right ( lineair no 22 kHz) port of the SL3k via activated BBC .
Disconnecting that BBC and measuring at the Spaun port 4 shows there is also power at that port keeping the BBC activated .
switching to other diseqc ports in the menu has no effects , only disconnecting the receiver cable let drop that power at port 4 .
Gonna try another switch to figur out whats going on .

Looks Like I'm gonna refit my modded -01 with Trust feeds ..
Possibly Tomorrow.
Mine has had some structural modding to the Left port to make it V Linear only..
But the Right port is unaltered ..so
Maybe best of both worlds..
In the meantime I'll keep checking fleabay for a pristine one..
More recently ..eg with the 03s ...I bought in pairs ..
One to mod ..and one to keep as is.
A lesson now learned the hard way.

More strange fact , watching KA channel at Turksat at the right SL3K port strait to the receiver and cutted the wire from the 5 volt regulator , still picture .
Removed the coax cable from the receiver , connected it back , again picture .

That's the same as mine is now VS, the port with the horn feed is my modded port and the other with the DE slab fitted has been untouched

Not looking terribly good for me ..
Had the Vertical signal from Playboy 3D at 4.2db this morning using the port modded -01 ...and still no lock on Newsnet ..even though it was peaking at over 9db.
My suspicions re mobile fone masts may yet end my reception of these feeds.
Not a happy bunny atm.
I'll try again when these fierce winds drop.

Nope ...still no go ..
This Vertical blindscan taken about 2 minutes ago ..
Note the db levels ..and the fact that the noise floor dips before the 4 newsnet peaks ..then rises again afterwards ..
Its as though the agc in this area is overloaded or crushed..
It is indeed a mystery I simply am unable to solve ..
You'd think I would have no probs with 4.2db from Playboy3D and over 10db from the 32APSK data signal ...but nothing else locks during the blindscan..
Aaaarrrgh...its turning me grey..

I have the same problem with newsnet, the ber is all over the place.

You may be right about 4G as I am very close to the hospital, the masts are pointing right at me.
