Toshiba VCR - NV780 - Red light on front

and I was hoping to sit down with a film tonight.

The forum which used to offer help with VCR repairs has disappeared from the net.

Any pointers as to which component(s) might be causing this ?

The only NV series VCRs I know of are the Panasonics CH. May be wrong though.

LED on only points to a PSU fault on those. Check the electrolytics - the usual suspects.

Of course I got the model number wrong (V-730), but it is a Tosh though.

Can't find anything online for that model, and all my old service sheets are stacked behind the garage. I keep meaning to shove it all in the loft, but something would have to go from up there 2

I'll see if there's anything there when it's light.

Nothing listed for that problem in stock faults I have for the V730 or equivalent models, maybe someone may turn up something eventually.

Meanwhile I'll send you the circuit diagram CH if you fancy a bit of fault finding
