TPS is going to Viacces 2.5 in march 2005
November 25, 2004
Viaccess, a France Telecom company, a leader in conditional access for pay television and protection of digital content over broadband networks, announces that TPS, one of the largest French pay-TV operator, has chosen Viaccess PC2.5 smart cards to serve its new subscribers.
PC2.5, launched in June 2003, features crypto-algorithm differentiation that enables the effective isolation of different operations using the same smart card generation. PC2.5 is today the best system available to combat piracy.
Since the beginning of the year, new comers into the Viaccess customers community, such as PBS in Bosnia, Hyundai Information Technology in Korea, Playboy TV International in Netherlands, D.Sky in Taiwan, and Home2US Communications in United States have all attested the Viaccess PC2.5 capabilities to help them protect and expend their businesses.
Security is our highest concern. We are very proud of the confidence TPS places into Viaccess PC2.5, the best system available to prevent and combat piracy. We are convinced this move will help TPS increase its subscriber base, declares Jean-Pierre Coustel, Viaccess Chairman & CEO. With more than 2 millions PC2.5 delivered in less than 16 months, Viaccess is today the third independent content protection specialist worldwide, he adds.
The introduction of PC2.5 in our conditional access mechanism is yet another measure in an extensive and programmed plan, together with Viaccess, to eradicate piracy declares Gilles Maugars, TPS Managing Director for Information Systems and Security.
