A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

I've just realised the cost of delivery also includes texts on the shipping arrangement, with confirmation it's due Monday morning as per the order statements, which is nice.

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
Just dug out that cheap component tester from the toolbox.

The attached image shows that it almost certainly the same basic product as the one that CH bought because the component contacts strip even has the same mfr name and P/N on it, and you can see solder pads between that and the test button for what I assume is the IR receiver, which, of course, this unit does not have.
PS: mine actually cost a nett £2.67 - that was for a replacement case after the 1st order of a PCB+ Case kit arrived without the Case and the cost of the kit was then refunded. OTOH that all took over a month to complete, and one of the holes in the case doesn't line up with the matching hole in the PCB.IMG_0607.JPG

Mine arrived a couple of hours ago, will charge up this evening and report back on the accuracy.

So your's has a rechargeable battery - that's another difference then as mine uses a non-rechargeable PP9 (put that in in late 2017, and it still seems to be OK)

Well, after a couple of hours checking various boxes of old components the TC1 is probably the best buy of the year.

It does have trouble with some larger transistors, and doesn't measure crystals, but all in all it is a very nice piece of kit for the price.

The only downfalls are the quality of the leads that come with it, the clamping system for smaller components, and the battery lasts about an hour before needing to be recharged with the USB lead.
