Silly question but is the network light on at the back of the TD? Can you ping that IP address from you PC? Also, try connecting the receiver via a router/switch using two normal (not Xover) cables.

Yep the light is on the ethernet on the TD box and PC. I will try and ping it later, and also via router too

With the router plugged in, it may/should obtain an IP address automatically. Also, can you please post the IP address of the PC you are connecting from, the TD's IP address and net mask.

Yes, that's the last Bootloader version.
As CJ suggests, if you use a router, just for a test, set your PC's TCP/IP to auto and set the Bootloader to the PC's RIP.

Re the difficulty the TD has keeping to the language chosen - ominously, that may be a broken Image. Problem is, you can't re-upload another one until you have your connection working.

I will try via the router as suggested tonight and let you know the results.

Just to get it clear, I plug the TD and PC into the router, via a regular ethernet cable, set the IP to auto, and put the assigned IP into the RIP on the boot loader menu. Then go to 'Update' and onto the TDT on the PC and try to connect?

Yes, that should do it. That's how I've set the one I've brought back into service for this thread. Left click to DHCP in the TD's Network Interfaces to show your router's DNS address, and save.

Llew, is Network Interfaces once the box is loaded? If so - when I go onto that I cannot do anything to it? Also it doesn't let me save when I change IP from 'DHCP to IPv4C or what ever it is

OK so, I have plugged into the router and box - assigned auto IP.

I put the IP that shows in TD Tool as the computer into the box as RIP and put the box IP in as the LIP.

There is a green line between computer and router but not to the box - that stays red. The box says 'Error m512' and 'zwgriff auf tdimage.bin'

Do you have any parameters filled in the DHCP box? Something like mine -

Is that in the boot menu or loaded menu?

My box must be different to yours, I have the old style LCD screen like that on a Nokia 3210 is you know the kind I mean.

Never come across that error, shouldn't have any reference to the TD Image, odd indeed.

In the TDCC tool, the red line to your TD, is it showing your TD's IP and is it the same as in Network Interface DHCP and Static ipv4?

Yes the IP on the red line in TDCC is the same as the one inset in the boot menu as LIP.

I I let the box load, go into 'built in network interface' I can change it to DHCP but cannot change to static, ipv4 and cannot set any numbers they are all 0.0.0.0

You mean you can't use the alphanumeric pop-up to change anything from the zeros?
You have to delete what's already in the pop-up to add your IPs.

Right, so I just set the box to 'DHCP' in the network interface and it seems to have connected. Do I need to go into boot loader menu to put a new image on?

Did you mean you can't go to the static ipv4 screen after you've gone to DHCP?

I selected DHCP, and hit save. Then went to ipv4 scrolled to one of the credentials but could not do anything else - none if the buttons seem to do anything.

It seems I can connect to the box once it's loaded but not in the boot loader

OK, so can you get to Upgrade Software in your Bootloader?

To upload an image, I use TD Tool v1.02a. You can find it on the official site.
