Ohh Ohh some jr. engineer didnt check the coolant levels on the klystron tubes.

Dishes: 80cm (5°W), 80cm (30°W), 60cm Zone 2 (13°E/19.2°E/28.2°E)
Receivers: HTPC w/ TBS6905 4x DVB-S2 PCIe tuner card running TVHeadend, Octagon SF8008 mini.

They’re bringing in a temporary mast and equipment to restore service apparently.

With it being shorter, some relays may not be able to receive the signal from it to rebroadcast. Including Whitby - which has apparently been switched to take the BBC Satback service off 27.5°W as a back-up!

ITV Tyne Tees News reporting the fire started in a building, and spoke to a local who said his mother heard an explosion - may add some credence to lightning strike theory?

Everything is still off air at the moment.

Laminas 1.2M fibre dish with an IBU, on a Clarke Tech USALS motor, covering 57E - 24.5W to an Octagon SX88. Displayed on a 20" Dyon LED TV.

Seperate 80 cm dish on 28E with a Humax Freesat for SWMBO.
Free Sat V8 meter. Sony Bravia 46" LCD, Sony BluRay and Home Cinema.

When I was but a lad (when we had horse drawn buses) and an apprentice TV engineer based in Stockton on Tees, I remember Bilsdale coming into service. You could get a great signal from a loop of coax!!

Other reports say there was no lightning in the area (my area!) and I never saw nor heard nuffin!

An item on BBC radio news this morning mentioned an engineer was preparing equipment for 5G services at the time of the fire. Mysteriously, I've seen or heard nothing since of similar reports.

You were lucky, I had to eat t'coal and live in a cardboard box in middle of t'road.
