Thanks - still relying on weak signal from Emley Moor for now. Sutton Bank is five miles away, but not a sniff.

Update from Freeview:

Disruption to signal from 9:00am to 6:00pm on Tuesday 12th October, and from midnight to 6:00am Wednesday 13th October. The temporary Bilsdale mast is due to go live at 6am on Wednesday 13th.

Temporary transmitters at Eston Nab & Arncliffe Wood to remain active. Sutton Bank will be switched off.

"Bilsdale Temporary mast should be on by 6:00am on 13th October broadcasting BBCA, BBCB, D3&4, SDN, ARQA, ARQB, and COM7 multiplexes.

Eston Nab should be back on by 6:00am on 13th October, broadcasting BBCA, BBCB, D3&4, SDN, ARQA, ARQB, COM7, and Local TV multiplexes.

Arncliffe Wood should be back on by lunchtime on 13th October, broadcasting BBCA, BBCB, and D3&4 multiplexes.

Sutton Bank won’t be turned back on as the temporary mast at Bilsdale covers the area it served.

Guisborough and Romaldkirk relays require engineering work and should be restored by 6:00 pm on 13th October

All other Bilsdale relays will be unaffected by this work and remain on throughout."

Looks like those of us in the Arncliffe Wood service area are being short changed :(

Maybe the signals I'm receiving are from Arncliffe Wood?

Group A rooftop, Sony DVD recorder SQ:
Ch24 - D3&4 100%
Ch27 - BBC A 100%
Ch29 - SDN 39%
Ch31 - Arqiva A 31%
Ch37 - Arqiva B 16% unwatchable

Indoor loop aerial, old Sony LCD TV:
Ch27 - BBC A (good)
Ch40 - Arqiva B (good)
Ch43 - SDN (High)
Ch46 - Arqiva A (High)

All multiplexes have returned to as they were yesterday.

I believe the following were tests from the 80m Bilsdale transmitter as they match what was originally broadcast from the site:

Ch24 - D3&4
Ch27 - BBC A
Ch40 - Arqiva B
Ch43 - SDN
Ch46 - Arqiva A

Ch24 D3&4 from Bilsdale:

I can also see Ch27 BBC A scanning in but whatever else they're doing it now causes my trusty old DVD Recorder to crash before the scan is complete :-wow

On the group A from Bilsdale:

Ch24 - D3&4
Ch27 - BBC A
Ch40 - Arqiva B
Ch43 - SDN
Ch46 - Arqiva A

All 100% SQ apart from SDN which is around 55%. The indoor aerial has good signals apart from D3&4.

Did you try the line of sight checker in post #140?

Also from Freeview:
"Viewers in the Northallerton area may find that their signal does not return until later in the day as engineers need to do further work in the area during the daytime of 13th October.
This work is planned to be complete by 6:00pm at the latest. If you are in the Northallerton area, you should retune your TV after 6:00pm on 13th October"

I wonder if this is an extra relay?

I don't have line of sight, but previously relied upon reflection from a nearby hill.

So, if the new signal is weaker than the old, that will mean zilch on a permanent basis!

Such is progress.

The signal is weaker than the old mast, but is much stronger than Arncliffe Wood.

Arncliffe Wood is now transmitting BBC A & D3&4 on ch29 & 31, and presumably BBC B on ch37.

Well my mission is to tweak my yagi (Oooh, Matron!) to peak on Emley Moor now, when I get the chance.

Signals from Arncliffe Wood tonight are better than they've been, strength is similar to before but quality is showing 88-100% rather than the 40% max before the Bilsdale temporary mast was switched on.

Bilsdale Quarry seems to be name adopted for the temporary transmitter site.

Interesting that the PSB multiplexes from Eston Nab and Bilsdale Quarry are using the same frequencies (Arncliffe Wood is using a different set). Should be said I've seen more no-signal reports from the nearby Middlesbrough area than anywhere else - maybe the single frequency use isn't quite working?
