I've got a Dreambox set up in France and have only managed to get the 13° to 19° to work, any pointers to help improve my range?

Sorry forgot to ask about the Ccam set up I'm using the Gemini project with a procamd update at the moment. When I've loaded the Ccam 2.14 I get no improvement, I know I'm doing something wrong but, with such a small hat size, I'm not sure what!!

Please explain what you mean by no improvement......... what are you doing are you using a FSFS local card to view FTA channels or are you involved in a C/S? Have you got a motor if so which one?

Sorry I got the wrong end of the stick, I've got no C/s going on. it was more a question concerning the use of the CCAM and its capabilities.
I tried loading the CCAM from the gemini server and activivated it but I guess(and possibly know) that I haven't been using this for the purpose it was written.
What is FSFS ? is it a Subversion filesystem?
I've got a motor but I was using a static sat to test run things out. I didn't want to run before I could walk so to speak. I'm mlerely on beginner and test mode at the moment , so please don't be too hard with me. Apologies if I said something out of line!!

Yes you do.

You need to find your box key first and then add a couple of lines.

SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 6000000
BOXKEY : /dev/sci0 ?? ?? ?? ??

It works fine in my DM500s

thanks, the boxkey is done, about the clock frequency, i have seen it on many threads, this i thought to do when my server starts freezing.

You dont need to overclock the white card at all. Leave it at the default 357 and it works perfect. You should have no problem serving 2 clients.

The line in your CCcam config that determines if you get your updates is this one. Make sure the #IS inserted.It is by default so should read like this unless you have changed it.
#DISABLE EMM : yes

about this line: DISABLE EMM : yes (should it look like this? without the #)?.
does this mean: i disable EMMs, why, and what do the EMMs have to do with "updating the card?

No leave the # in the line, its the EMMs that update the card.

To be clear, If you put a # before anything in the CCcam.cfg it will disable it.
ie
#DISABLE EMM : yes (it dosnt make any difference if this line is in the config or not)
DISABLE EMM : yes (this will be disabling EMM updates)

think of the # as a switch to turn lines on and off

i have no card inside, and iv done a scan, only the free channels work
when i do what ive quoted, by ftp
will the pay channels work,
im on astra 28.2E

i think you have to read a bit more in the forum, there are loads of good manuals around, its easy but not so easy. if you ask a specific question, you m,ight get some answers.

i started this thread, and its going its way. i was asking about updates, they seem to be okay, i get every day some updates = EMMs. it went from 1 to 7 to 9, in 3 days.
is this enough? where are the dates? and the emms are called client handled emms, what does this mean?
somebody will know.

No, first of all if you do what you quoted, what boxkey are you going to use? You will need the card to match that boxkey.
Sky UK is not compromised. You need a card somewhere in the decrypting equation.

I only ever see EMMs near card update time. Normally I only get one or two in any 24hr period. Ive seen others reporting huge amounts. I use Newcs to handle my card and when i see the emm in the management console display I check and the update is usually done.

To see your entitlement dates in CCcam type dreambox ip:16001 into your web browser eg 192.168.0.5:16001

Those are emms from the client you are connecting with so you must have allowed him to send them to you by the way you configured the Fline.

Have a read of the CCcam.cfg file, it explains how to tailor your flines the way you want.
