Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
I can't explain it at all but the lounge system (SX88+ but using same dish and most of same cables) IS now showing the 4.8E Ukrainian channels - but the office system was totally "deaf" on all the channels on that sat 30 mins ago and yet got channels on Thor and elsewhere! :confused

can you tell us more? what are the symptoms? Do you have a screenshot to share with us maybe from crazyscan or a screenshot of spectrum waterfall? Is it only on 4,8 E? what about 4W?
Ive got an old Technomate connected to an analogue tv card, and 25 years playing around with satellite tv. I cant get 4W here, Im too far north to have a realistic chance of getting it on any sensible sized dish (Im 30 miles south of Edinburgh)

Symptoms are simple. The signal goes from maximum signal to literally nothing in a fraction of a second. (Plenty of signal of 5E here so its not a marginal downlink. Its not particularly windy so the dishes wont be bouncing around like they do in a good gale.) Occasionally some broken signal reappears then after a bit the signals come back.

Just atm Im looking, Glas on 12073H. The TM shows 12.2dB, its a reasonable day here, cloudy but no rain. Intermittent break up. When I put the system on about 10.20, no signal on any of the channels I flicked through. No issues on the Ukrainian channels on 13E. If it was pouring with rain Id blame the rain & water vapour in the clouds for the break up but its not.

I shall see about rigging a dedicated dish for 5E over the weekend - atm Im running an offset lnb on one of the other dishes.

A few minutes ago I was watching some of the Ukranian channels on 4.8E on the lounge system, but, now, on the office system, none of those are now working (and, yes, that system is working on other sats) - so have the Russians jammed everything on 4.8E????

Edited: BTW. I meant to say that there's no sign even of carriers - would that mean that the sat itself has been knocked out??

Solar outage for 10 minute period, it is that time of year but not sure of the specific times per satellite?

EPG on Football 2 says Los Angeles vs Colorado but is instead showing the emergency broadcast being shown on the majority of channels

Yes! Today i've turned one of my antennas to 4W for Ukrainian channels. Live tv from bunkers and secret places. They are showing unbelievable, unedited and raw things. We are living in really sad times...

Kanal 5 was showing the Ukrainian flag with some text over it for quite a while yesterday. According to something I saw on the BBC News coverage it translated as something along the lines of "we will be back when the air raid is over!"

I was right in my identification yesterday - its definitely an underground car park they are using for the emergency studios!

The 5E downlinks are having problems again. I suspect the Russians are intermittently testing jamming Astra 4A. The symptoms are very similar to when the Iranians had a go at jamming the Farsi news channels on

They are for sure jamming 4W too, suddenly at 00:25 i 've lost all Ukrainian channels.

UPDATE: They are back (01:45)

I had a tinker this morning & changed the lnb on my 5E offset position. ATM everything is good - Im getting around 11 or 12dB/94% on my TM on most of the signals.

RT & no doubt other Russian channels will be disappearing off EU controlled satellites very soon:

This is the important bit:

.........in another unprecedented step, we will ban in the EU the Kremlin's media machine.

The state-owned Russia Today and Sputnik, as well as their subsidiaries will no longer be able to spread their lies to justify Putin's war and to saw division in our Union.

So we are developing tools to ban their toxic and harmful disinformation in Europe.

Belarus24 may get affected too as they are going after Belarussian assets as well for helping Russia.

Time to revisit 4W. Ages go since I checked.

Currently FTA channels on Amos 7 12297H. Mr. Zelenskyy gives a morale booster occasionally during the regular programmes.

Does anybody pick up the Nordic/East European beam of Eutelsat 9B 9°E?

Could be worth checking the Multistream transponders with T2-MI carrying Zeonbud (Зеонбуд) - the Ukrainian DTT provider. These used to be on 4.8°E European beam, and all but one of the streams became encrypted with Irdeto a couple of years back. These may also now have gone clear.

12265 V 30000 5/6 DVB-S2 8PSK (MIS 10 and MIS 20 - both also using T2-MI)
12303 V 30000 5/6 DVB-S2 8PSK (MIS 30 and MIS 40 - both also using T2-MI).

The T2-MI stream on 12303V MIS 40 never got encrypted unlike the others so that one at least should give something.

12303 also doesn't have a co-channel Italian transponder to interfere.

Will have a go at these when the weather clears up. I've only had a tickle of lock on the Nordic beam before (nothing scanned in) but I don't think those two transponders were active at the time.

I will also take a look tomorrow with my 1.2CM dish. 12303V without competition from the other beam may work.

Cold but sunny morning in the north east but all the Nordic beam transponders are below lock on the CM 1.2m, the Primo stops and has a good think about them during a search but nothing scans in.
