That's just about it!

Whines like bu**ery (I call it SWMBO for short) but the little tines don't half cut through the surface and drag out the bad stuff.

Eeeeh, funny things you have up on t'moors. If you want to be green (having just turned this colour as of this morning I'm now ecologically minded!) you can always get a flock of chickens. They do a fine job of scratching at the lawn surface. However, they also dig up newly planted seedlings, eat broadcasted seeds and leave 'deposits' in the most annoying places. They do provide superb eggs though.

Not spring here either (no snakes around yet). And the weather is still a miserable 21/13.

Still freezing then? :-per

At least the first snake of the year is more exciting than the first swift, especially if you sit on it. :-hide

Think its time to anchor down the barbie and get the winter woolies out atm - the weather forecast for here is horrendous for the next couple of days

Flash warnings are in place for:

Severe Blizzards, Severe Drifting Snow & Very Heavy Snowfall

So it will be nice and sunny tomorow and I'll have to go to work :(

Yes, I was toying with asking for this Thread to be put into suspendered animation myself, earlier today.

We had 3 inches of rain or 20 cm snow forecast.

Fortunately it's all been rain so far, and not tooooo bad.

The charcoal got wet, though.

@AS: Aren't your lot on Easter hols yet?

Well, its persistent down here, another two or four days according to whichever media outlet you watch.

No snow though, but the North is more or less guaranteed another 20cms tomorrow.

It really is going to be an interesting Easter.

We've had a quite a bit of rain here and it's decidedly chilly, but nothing like Scotland seems destined to have. The gable end of the house is about half 'pointed up' and I now have a tiled kitchen floor. Plus a new washing machine courtesy of my Mum's generousity.

Alan the Artisan and I have done a swap deal for the old, mot failure, Astra estate (mileage 200,000 +) I've given him the car and he's making me solid cherry wood worktops for the kitchen. He is planning a couple of weeks break in the UK though, and I'm putting money on the wall being unfinished when he goes. (Alan's just turned up and he's off tomorrow so I was right :) )

It'll be a sad Easter in some respects as Sarah (stepdaughter) and I plan to visit the cemetary in Rennes where my late wife Debbies' ashes have been scattered. She donated her body to medical research, so we had no services or cremation to attend when she passed away. But, I'm hoping for closure at last.

Just seen our local news (BBC NE & {Strangely} Cumbria) ....... the actualité seems to bear out the forecast - and some - in the Borders.

Sounds awful!

Take care getting to and from the slave encampment.

I'm waiting to get outside and build a new workshop. All the timber is there but its to wet and windy to start. All I can do is the drawings. Opposite me is a bungalow having an extra floor added. The scaffold covered in clear sheeting, 30ft high, with a corragated roof sways in the wind gusts. I'm thinking its only the weight holding it down........

SWMBO and I took advantage of a brief lull in the cold wet and windy weather (due to return over the weekend!) and chose today, a cool, dry, sunny but nevertheless 'taters day to do a lovely 7 mile walk oop Roseberry Topping, Captain Cook's Monument.

It were reet grand!

A lovely Easter Saturday here, though with a cold wind, certainly not warm enough for a barbie!

Both Bob the Builder and Alan the Artisan have elected to work today (at least this morning, and no, they don't get time and a half!) As you can see in the photo the pointing is almost complete. I've set a completion date for most of the renovations of the 14th of May, as my mum and two friends are staying for a week.
