Not 4 years but 4 years less than it was planned. Instead of 15-year life that will work only 11.

I think that it is too early to speak about date of FOC. That will take at least 1 week to bring yamal402 to geostationary orbit at 55*E, if they manage that at all. Also depends on how much fuel will be left in the tanks, if any.

All launch failures are because of Breeze-M block failures. But it is interesting, that foreign satellites launched successfully, when russian satellites not. We already have a "sabotage" theory in russian forums.

It's going to take at least one more burn before it can be considered in a stable orbit.

Christ what a game to get 4:2:2 streaming across my lan from the Vu+ Duo to watch on the computer via VLC player.

Got it working now though, although its probably just quicker to watch the web stream!

I'll write a guide if anyone is interested
Shouldn't be difficult. Just scan the channel and the open it with VLC in OpenWebIf.

the satellite satmex 8 from 27 december delay to january not know yet the date launch
+++http://ria.ru/science/20121212/914436128.html

MOSCOW, Dec. 12 - RIA Novosti. launch rocket "Proton-M" with the upper stage "Briz-M" and the Mexican SatMex 8 satellite, scheduled for December 27, will not be implemented this year because of problems at start-up Russian satellite "Yamal-402", told RIA Novosti the Khrunichev Center (the manufacturer of rockets "Proton" and boosters "Briz-M").

"While the working group is working to determine the cause of premature separation of the spacecraft" Yamal-402 "from the upper stage" Briz-M ", a schedule of upcoming launches is not defined. But just to say that the launch of the spacecraft SatMex 8, plan on 27 December, to end of the year will not take place, it is obvious, "- said the source.

Carrier rocket "Proton-M" with the upper stage "Briz-M" and the communications satellite "Yamal-402" was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome December 8 at 17.13 MSK, ten minutes from the rocket separated front section - the upper stage and the satellite. It was expected that the "Yamal" come to geosynchronous transfer orbit on Sunday, 9 December, at 02.28 MSK. But by Sunday morning Roscosmos said that during injection apparatus was fixed emergency situation: The satellite separated from the upper stage "Briz-M" for four minutes earlier than planned.

Experts hope with four switching engines "Yamal" gradually transfer it to your work place standing in the geostationary orbit, while the additional consumption shorten the active life of 15 to 11 years. The first maneuver to propel spacecraft "Yamal-402" in the geostationary orbit was successfully held on Monday night, the second - on Monday night. The third is planned for Wednesday, December 12. The satellite is designed for broadcast on Russia, as well as Western and Central Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

Contract to launch from Baikonur spacecraft Satmex 8 was signed between the company International Launch Services (ILS) and the Mexican satellite operator Satellites Mexicanos SA de CV (Satmex).

Satmex 8 satellite, which will produce a U.S. company Space Systems / Loral, is intended to provide broadband services and television Ku-and C-band in America.

Company International Launch Services-ILS has the exclusive right to market and commercial operation the main Russian launch vehicle heavy class "Proton". The company was registered in 1995 in the U.S., is headquartered in Reston, Virginia. Majority shareholder in ILS is FSUE "State Research and Production Space Center Khrunichev", developer and manufacturer of rocket "Proton" and booster "Briz-M".

Last night Yamal 402 was successfully transferred to geostationary orbit, with fourth correction burning of engine.
How much lifetime was lost will be known later.
