More bad news now...al jeera have cancelled their contract with art meaning shortly these channels wil not clear. So no point paying the extra for the cards with these on. Or is it really worth buying the cards cause of how many have gone off.

That's for the Nilesat cards - whether the same will happen on Hotbird is anyone's guess.

My card stopped working also.

Its the red version and looks original....worked fine for 1 month....very frustrating!

Have contacted UK supplier and waiting response.

My advice is not to buy one of these cards under current circumstances.

We all like a bargain, but, I will only buy from a dealer that is well known. That way if I have a problem it will be sorted. They have a good reputation to hang on to, not always easy, these days.

I am fully aware of the situation regarding the Albanian cards that were purchased during the world cup. Basically, in albania the cutomers only subscribed for 2 / 3 month viewing card to watch the world cup! A gentleman who shall remain nameless in the industry tried to re-chip the cards to give users a 12 month subscription and sell worldwide.

Has anyone ever downloaded a 'cracked' piece of software with updates only to find that at a later date the software company contact you and inform you that you have an illegal serial? This is a similar action taken by arabesque.

Buy from UK companies with guarantees only and make sure that you DO NOT purchase a re-chipped viewing box or you are wasting your time!

Hi Can anyone please advise....

My ART card stopped working in Dreambox last week. Supplier tells me that ART are now turing cards back on (those original ones switched off in error apparently) and I need to turn to 13E and leave on ART1 channel overnight pending update. My first card experience!

My question is will dreambox softcams (Newcamd, SCAM, Camd or Evocam) be able to reactivate card, can anyone with dreambox please confirm or otherwise?

The supplier has offered to put the card intp a proper viaccces cam to get switched back on but I will need to post it to them.

So, do I park on 13e/ART1 for a few nights to activate it myself, or is it a lost cause with softcams ....and it would better to post it back ASAP?

the whole art thing is a grey area,no one knows what to buy,what is genuine and what is fake.
My card is still working well,since july,i bought it based on my feeling about the seller more than anything,100% feedback etc..,also there was stuff on this forum about dodgy cards in the summer which i picked upon and it made sense to me, so i found a good seller with what looked like a possibly genuine card based on what i'd seen and so far everything is good.
The cards overall appear to cost very little from abroad given that they are for use in some of the poorest countries,so i don't see why folk are taking £100 and not delivering a fully working card.
