If you like I can take the arm out of the dish mount and measure it. Taking your LNB arm out of the mount and comparing measurements would prove things one way or another...

Hang on, I measured from the back of the mount for the dish face, not the back of the dish. Maybe we should have agreed where to measure the arm from. Anyway, the smaller series of Gibertini has a totally different style of LNB arm and your photos don't show this. I looks like a pukka XP arm.

Check out the XP series home page. Gibertini SRL :: X Series Antennas

Make sure your arm is locked into the hole at the base of the dish face mount. I'm a little disadvantaged because I don't have the dish assembled at the moment I'm also confused, did you loosen the LNB holder to tilt it and improve reception or did you find it was loose and moving it helped? If it was loose it would be easier to rectify that and realign the dish elevation
I also measured that way. From the back of the lnb arm dish face mount where the holder slides through. I had to loosen the lnb holder and pull it back a bit and then tilt it up, then keep it in that position with tape. The lnb holder was never loose to start with.

Last year there was a dealer out west selling Gibertini antennas which came in different boxes to those of the manufacturer.

There might have been other job lots of non compliant gear sold elsewhere on the continent.

My offer to calculate the dish specs from your inputs (see post #247) still stands!

It looks like the measuring and checking of the dish and the focal point position are not only usefull, but even necessary, when installing a (new) dish. I've seen several examples of suboptimal LNB-placement, till now, including on my own Triax TD115....

The original Lenson Heath perforated dish in the 90's was the one that was renowned for being deaf (or is that blind) because of a focal point error.

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
Plus I wasted over 3 months trying to fine tune the dish and never worked. I will notify the shop.
If, after "comparing notes" with @sonnetpete, you are pretty sure (and I suspect that you will be) that you have been sent the wrong (i.e. a too-short) feedarm, really "sock it to" your supplier very hard for the correct replacement, and PDQ!
PS: if that is the case then what did I say somewhat earlier? I think it amounted to a "bitza kit"!

That's the one to which I was (without "naming names"!) referring!:-rofl2
PS: It took a long time for me to reply on this thread because Virginmedia internet was "down" for about 4-5 hours :(

Any response yet??
First response was they dont do exchanges, then I complained. He then sent 2nd email stating

“Please send back the arm to the shown address with a copy of the invoice and a short description of the fault to be checked.”

i wonder if the cost of sending an lmb arm to germany is the same cost as buying an lnb arm in uk:confused

i think ill be buying from other suppliers in the future

Might be worth contacting Gibertini direct, explain what has happened and ask them if they can supply the correct replacement directly to you - and maybe also a pair of the feedarm sidearms which are an option for the 100XP? Might be cheaper/quicker/ less hassle than via your "supplier" - and then there's the "bitza guy" in Harlech as he may have some he could sell you!

Ok, the 100 XP Premium LNB arm, from the end where it fits into the dish mount to the bottom of the LNB mounting plate is 75cm. Bearing in mind I've had this dish for quite a few years, I think it came with the arm already fitted to the mount for the dish face. @Red alert did you assemble the arm and dish mount?

OK, dimensions to the nearest cm, maximum (reflector including rim/total boom length) and minimum (effective reflector area/boom length in front of reflector)

Reflector width - 99 and 97cms
Reflector height - 106 and 105cms
Feedarm length - 73 and 69cms

So the 65cms in post 272 would suggest an under illuminated or short sighted reflector and a faulty supply.

Thanks for this. I have attached photos of the lnb arm. So where you can see the lnb holder thats at it approx 1cm back secured with tape. Its actual position was 1 cm forward, pushing it to 66cm maybe. So as @sonnetpete stated 75 cm on his lnb arm, that 75 cm is way back on my setup.
