Hi All
Thanks for all your input/sugesstions and links.
The USB Power for the camera is 7.2V @ 2.1A and a very odd shaped usb connector.
Distributor says Canon design so "have a nice day" aka f-off

This wikipedia page gives a lot of info on the various types of USB connectors - including some very rare/odd ones
It won't be USB if his power supply is 7.2v however.

Would be useful if the OP put a model number.

Ahhh it's a Canon OEM type power connector, you will not find one, not from any electronic part houses, if you do it would be at a bulk price and you would have to buy a few thousand, it would be cheaper to get a cheap after market power supply on flebay for that camera and cut it off.(or replace the whole power supply)

Is this it?? If so then good luck finding one as it's not a standard USB cable.

Cheaper to buy a new power supply.

What I probably should have said was there were/are a number of proprietary connectors that look like they are USB but they are not or "not quite" - as TerryL has just demonstrated

Yeah I understand what you mean, this whole thread is confusing as the original post reads like it's a USB Charger so we are all answering based on that. Really it should have said "Something that looks like a USB type of connector" But the OP probably wasn't aware of that.
Terryl is bang on the money :)

There will often be a USB at the other end of the lead.

USB-3.0 is something I've started using as of late in my current work.
