Out of curiosity, I'll check the Pace one's dimensions. If I haven't cannibalized it for some project. ISTR using one such toroidal in a battery charger I made, but I don't think it was that one.
Be interesting to know if it would fit ...
Digi247 kindly donated a Gbox with an O/C primary transformer for my vast collection of shyte ....err parts cupboard...
Ya never know..
Its why I never say no to gifts of scrap.

Can't read German too well ...but assuming this unit would accomodate 240v AC ...
The dual output would be adequate I think ..
Can't see why the motors wouldn't run at 24V ..
comments welcomed..

Of course it will run at 24 V , even 12 V will do .
Modding several V-boxes (and other positioners) with a SG2100 circuitboard for the use with Usals (only with H2H rotors) , I attached a extra handswitch to have the choice for powering the rotor between 36 v and the also in the box present 12 V .
The dish moves very slowly , nice to make more precise approch , only turning back at 12 V from far east or west is sometimes an issue .
Therefore you have to switch back to 36 V.

Do you have a schematic for this mod? I am assuming no modifications to the rotor itself is required?

What mod do you mean ? only the 36/12V switch or the usals , therefore its nessecairy the rotor gives 39 pulses / 1º rotation . What rotor do you have ?

The USALS bit. I have two rotors - one no-name, which I haven't even unpacked and the other is the Jaegar 1224. Do you know the pulse count per degree on the 1224?

Though, I guess it's a very similar mod to the one you did on that motor - the USALS bits are in the motor itself.

Still in situ VS, smaller than I realized - 8cm circumference, 4cm high including mounting bolt.

Id guess that would do he job nicely ...
In fact I'd be tempted to go t'other way and put the guts of a Gbox in the square box of the pace..
I hate curved non square boxes on electronic devices..
Corners are cool

..perhaps its a man thing ..

The SMR1224 makes approx. 11 P/1º (made a mistake in https://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/threads/jaeger-smr1224-usals-ready.163414/ it are 2.77 rotations of the magnet wheel , one rotations make 4 pulses )
To get 39 P/1º I changed the magnet wheel for a 14 slots wheel with a optical sensor.

Yours if you want it VS - either the toroidal only or the box with it.

Yours for just the postage. They're a bit heavy, but won't break the bank.
I'll post it tomorrow perhaps.

Part of the service info for the Pace, gives wiring details for the tranny. There's a thermal fuse in the primary.

Primary - orange wires
36V secondary - red+yellow
12V secondary- blue+grey

Nice - let us know how it works out, Llew! Wouldn't mind bringing mine back to life.

I suppose any power adapter with 36V output could be used, given enough current. And 12V is easy enough to obtain from that.

It's on its way to VS now, CJ, so he'll let you know if or when he tries it.

Is the second link no good?
Well ...at 50VA ..it will probably be ok ..
But since it is physically tall ...buch less suitable to fit in the Gbox case ...
And of course torroids are preferable generating less vibration and wasted energy in the form of heat ..
So If it were me ..Id choose the first..

btw ..
Llew ..PM me the postage cost and I'll paypal it to you at an address of your choosing.
