File sizes could be dealt with by the forum software. There should be an option to automatically resize pictures to a specific resolution/size.

Perhaps we should impose tighter File Size restrictions, placing the onus on the Member uploading them, rather than causing potential difficulties for people wishing to view??
I shrink all my pics down to a 33% reduction with pix resizer, most of my photos are generally around 7 to 8meg before this and i know the site wouldnt accept this. I have no problem uploading onto the site whatsoever. (Win7/Linux Mint/Firefox24)

I've not noticed any issues with Firefox 24 on Windows XP or Chrome on my iPad for any types of pictures. Most things download pretty much instantly. Most of the time I'm reading this forum on either a 15Mb, 8Mb or 95Mb connection.

So.... is this being looked into? It's as bad as it ever was...Here's an example of an image "loading" (it's stuck) on the "Ses Want Freq..." thread.

It's nothing to do with Internet speeds. Something is getting stuck at the server end. Either the file system is slow where the pictures are or, more likely, the database is slow pumping out BLOB datatypes out if the pictures are stored there.

This is really frustrating. I seem to be the only one with this issue and this is the only site I have this issue with!

What I have noticed in the last few days is that where there are multiple photos in a post, like Vipersans pics on the Ka band thread, it can take ages (20-30 seconds) to load the first image, but after that its instant as you click through the photos. Its almost as though the browser is precaching the pics before displaying the first one.

Probably more notiable here tho as im sub 2meg.

Difficult for me to test, as I have a fast connection, but pictures load instantly on Chrome and Firefox, even on my ipad using safari, they only take a couple of seconds.

Sorry, CJ: Absolutely fine for me.

It seems you're either the only one affected or the only one that's noticed.

Edit: Firefox 24 on Linux Mint and Iceweasel on Crunchbang.
