Just wondering if the web browsing experience on the dreambox is any good. I'm thinking about buying one and this could be the deciding factor.

With only 64 megs to play with is it pretty basic or does it compare reasonably favourably with browsing on a PC?

Is it comparably fast?

I assume you need a keyboard to make it usable but how does not having a mouse affect navigation?

Thanks for sharing your experiences...

Never tried it, but heard that it sucks. There was an intersting article (to which a link now exists in the Idiot guide) which talks about the Dreambox running apps for which it wasn't (primarily) designed. As you say, with only a small amount of memory by todays standards, it's going to be at a serious disadvantage to the PC. The web server that it runs as standard is woefully slow, particularly when the Dreambox is decoding video streams.

Heard that it runs email clients too, and imagine that would be a more suitable type of app.

Let us know if you find out more, or end up trying it...
