Well, my wife and I will be holidaying in Olhos 'd'Agua again this year and from what's posted here I will try spotting the knitters from the sattters. Are there any obvious signs to distinguish between the two? I suppose someone linked to a pair of needles and wool would be obvious but, other than that, looks like it will have to be instinct that decides. :D

Well yeah, there are obvious signs. For instance, the sat girls are the most good-looking :D who don't speak about soap operas, because we don't see them; and we like looking at guys ;) wondering if they are the ones we talk to in the forum. :-rofl2

Looking at the merchandise for Satelites UK I wondered why the prices are in dollars? I was thinking of purchasing some of the baseball tops. Could we not have the prices in UK pounds please?
Oh, and I have done something really daft and deleted one of the satelite, (Badr) then thought I would be clever and put it in manually :)now I cant get the receiver to pick it up again properly.
The list is there (on Badr)but it just says no signal all the time on the channels I used to get.
Sigh

No I'm sorry harrowomen, prices cannot be shown in sterling against individual items.

To get Badr back, make sure the frequency parameters you have for the channels are up to date .... well at least one anyway. Look on here http://www.lyngsat.com/badrc.html to get an idea. Then with a correct one in your search menu you can scan for that satellite manually. Once you home in on the sat then a normal search should bring in the rest.

I thought this thread was for non-techie women.

I need help. Here I am, up early, having moved from London to New York
We have a fancy cable installation, a huge TV, two remote controls
I can't even work out how to get anything but incomprehensible messages on the screen

If my husband was awake, he would angrily snatch the remotes, fiddle around, and I would have learned nothing.

Is there anyone who can explain how to operate these things?

I am not stupid. I have a degree and have used computers for nearly 30 years.
Remote controls and microwaves continue to baffle me.
I am not alone.

Please help. I am being denied access to a world of information, pleasure, knowledge and entertainment

Hi and welcome to the forum.:)

The biggest problem people have with multi receiver and remote systems is finding which input the TV should be set at to watch the various receivers.

Different TVs have different settings and descriptions of which buttons to press to change the input device, if you can tell us which brand of TV you have and even better upload a photo of the TV remote so that we can see the buttons, then we can probably help to unlock your viewing shackles. ;)

Its from when we changed the forum software last time around - the url structure is different on this forum s/w, so when you click on an old link you get the front page of the site instead of the thread you expected!

Theres some old friends on this thread - what ever happened to sophia, marts & happy traveller?
