Its a way of combining multiple channels and multiple streams into one multiplex. Its used to feed transmitters and hide channels from the average punter as the "normal" receiver doesnt show any signal for a multistream transmission.

to be honest theres not really much of interest on mutistream. Yet. Its a niche corner of the hobby, but unless you are interested in low quality Italian channels (5W) / French TV (5W) Ukrainians (5E) or Russians in C-band (40E) Theres not really much out there. Of course if you *HAVE* to have everything going then get a receiver.

I had a look at some of the multistreams available on the satellites I can see when I first put the new Mut@nt HD51 into service but whist it was intresting to see them for the first 5 minutes I rapidly lost interest.

Thanks to the absolutely hideous E2 firmware(*) Ive now withdrawn the Mut@nt and its languishing in the garage in disgrace. Ive bought anothe TM5402 M3 which is a far better receiver all round even if it doesnt give my multistream. Ive played wit MS - I can live without it.

(*) Every time I used the HD51 I had an irrational urge to take it out into the garden and beat the s&*t out of it with a VERY big hammer

He probably means low quality programme content rather than picture quality..

Yes could be, but on the other hand Rai and France TV air good quality programs, naturally not the same could be said of others.
