ok so i have a 2m8 (9 feet) antenna, my wife will kill me

Its more like 2.6m so she wont be too annoyed.

Many companies made similar designs in the 80's/90's, but the name Alcoa keeps coming back based on the mount design. The site I worked at in Greece last year also had a similar arrangement. (Famaval ?)

Got a similar 14 years ago, terminated to the 'dump' few years later...
excepted the polarmount which was the best part of the antenna.

but good enough for most of strong signal Cband, same result as a foretecstar...

Indeed it is identical to @Vipersan ,s Alcoa polar mount ...

i have the same petals (no extensions) with a different (fixed) mount ... pointed at 46 east for 4050 V 30000 (Reuters live)
