Ok, I’m not sure where to start with this. It could be very simple or maybe there is more to it. I might just be looking in to it too much.

I’ve got a Hisense Tv with a built in satellite turner. It’s connected to an existing sky dish. It’s been working perfectly for the past six months but a few days ago it’s lost all signal. It was connected to 28.2. Cables all look to be fine.

Have there been any changes, from what I’ve read lots of stuff has been happening? Just trying to work out if it’s a bad cable, issue with the TV, issues with the dish, or the service itself.

Some channels have been changing transponders and parameters but if you've lost all channels I'd suspect the LNB, cables or connectors. Do you have an old Sky or Freesat box you can try?

Did the Sky system have two cables connecting it to the dish? Have you tried both cables?

Yes, tried both with no success. I’ve got an old Sky box at a friends house that I’m going to grab on Sunday and I’ll give that a go.

Depending on how technical minded you are. I would pop into the TV settings and see if the lnb power is switched to 'on'
Check your f-cable connector by unscrewing and checking for anything loose that may be giving a short.
If everything is still not working then factory reset your TV in the general settings and let the TV reinstall and scan everything.
If that doesn't work then it's your satellite dish 100% ...

Thanks, I’ll have a go with this before I try the new box.

Ok, I’m not sure where to start with this.

When "nothing has changed" in the setup, and no obvious things like loose cables can be seen, my first suspicion would be a dislocated dish (by winds, or something else).
Having a test receiver is indeed a good way of testing that.

By the way: I would NOT do a factory reset of TV or receiver, when there is no obvious indication that the fault lies there, for instance when someone has messed up the settings.
That is because you'll lose all your settings by the reset, and when the fault isn't in the settings, fault finding is much more difficult after that, because the new settings might be incorrect and you'll miss proper frequency settings to test if your dish still has proper reception.

If the fault might be in the settings, it's better to make pictures of the settings screens and post them, for us to check them.

No, don't factory reset yet - Last resort, not first. Could be more bother than it's worth.
