No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Even if you buy a phone using a credit card, you can put the money you save monthly towards the phone and it would be paid off much sooner than the contract expire date.

Yeah, but taking out a card just for a phone seems a bit of a daft idea, it's one form of credit to another... :confused

It was just an example. I guess it's the same with lease cars - fine if you want a nice fresh car every few years without the full expense of one but not always great value, considering the car is never actually yours (unless you pay extra £ at the end of the lease).

strangely....I agree with captain Jack..on this one..!......always best to buy your own gear... outright.....than leasing.....from phones...to cars......or anything expensive.. (apart from houses)....if you don't have the money... best to save up the pennys...or wait.... thats why i still have my old iphone 4......

Apologies...captain jack.......maybe i got you mixed up... with one other of the very many.. "staff members".....on here ......that sometimes in the past..... edit or delete my posts .....if they disagree or don't like something i post..........

So these days... i have to be very diplomatic..and carefully word my replies......to others on here...

have fun with your new phone.....apparently the "M8" has good speakers...and a good camera........bonus.. :-) ...

Always buy mine second hand and have a Talkmobile £9 per month package, works out better for me, but appreciate that if you want the very latest phone, then probably contract works out about the same, perhaps a little more expensive. Have gone back from my Galaxy S3 to an iphone 4s, but only really due to the size of it, the S3 I found was difficult to keep in my pocket safely whilst crawling through lofts etc.

Might be interested in your 5s Cap'n, I'm assuming it'll be in good nick, is it tied to any network and is it the same size SIM as the 4s?

Same as you here CJ i use to buy my phones outright but at nearly £600-£700 now is not that easy especially when buying new ( I dont do Secondhand ), Having had most of the iPhone incantations the last being a 64gb 4s also had LG,Nokia,Sony,HTC etc.. i now have stuck with samsung for the last 2 years having had a S3 then S4 i skipped the S5 and have just gone for the Note4 its currently well according to reports the Smartphone to beat which includes the iPhone6.

Decided to do the tesco thing where you upgrade and they give you the phone at 0% for 24 months and you can upgrade when you want as long as you pay the remainder of the Phone payment off completely. i worked out my minutes, Texts, Data that i have with them for sim only and with the upgrade it actually works out cheaper than me buying the phone outright and keeping my old plan, A no brainer for me really.

'Tis here! And I love it! It's so fast - unbelievably fast. The iPhone 5S is snail pace in comparison - not saying that it *is* but it *feels* like it. Also, love the front facing speakers - makes total sense.

The only caveat is I bought a "64Gb" MicroSD card off eBay, which turned out to be nothing more than a 4Gb one. Lucky I tested it before storing valuable data on it. So, beware of those.

It's HTC One M8 in Silver. I prefer this colour due to the fact that it's not painted on but the real colour of metal it's made of.
