Al Stewart was very good last night with his excellent backing musicians..... Dave Nachman on guitar and vocals, Tim Renwick (formerly of Quiver but has played with most everyone since) on Guitar and Marc Macisso on sax and everything else. Nice relaxed atmosphere and he comes across as very unselfish where his 'band' are concerned.

Just seen this thread, got me thinking back, certainly can't remember all of the bands and dates, but probably the decades.:)

1960s
Gino Washington and the Ram Jam band

1970s
Bonzo Dog (Reading Rag Ball a surprisingly good rock band)
Free
The Drifters
Jimmy Ruffin
The Baron Knights
The Who
Bob Dylan (at Blackbushe)
Joan Armatrading
Neil Diamond at Woburn Abbey
Manfred Mann's Earth Band
Fats Domino
Lots of unknown bands who never made it.

1980s
Crystal Palace Bowl Summer in the City - Ultravox, Madness, Tenpole Tudor, Straycats (best memory of the gig was having a drink at the bar in the artists enclosure next to Phil Lynott and Joe Strummer. :) )
Randy Crawford
Prince (fist UK appearance at Lyceum in the strand, before he was a big name)
Robert Palmer
Bruce Springstein (twice)
Elkie Brooks (back stage pass and went to the end of tour party :) )
Manfred Mann's Earth band (twice)
Stevie Windwood
Pink Floyd The wall (twice)
Supertramp
Temptations
Junior walker and the Allstars
The Four Tops
Fleetwood Mac
Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band
Earth Wind and Fire (twice)
Michael Jackson (Wembley Stadium)
Prince at Earl's court (listened to whole concert from bar, as watching a bloke in high heels sticking his hands down his underpants didn't appeal, music was good though. :) )
Had tickets for Bob Marley's UK tour, but unfortunately he died just before it was due to start

I'm sure I've missed some out, my friend was a promoter, so got lots of comp tickets, can't remember going to anything in the 90s.:)

My first time to see a live artist was in November 1988 and that was Chris De Burgh! Bloody good night! I have seen Meatloaf in 1994 and in 2006, 2007 and 2009, The War Of The Worlds on stage.

In the aftermath of Cropredy; Katzenjammer - pretty damn good: Emmylou Harris: good but spoiled by weather: Proclaimers: surprisingly good! Level42: Better if you're a fan, Toyah: pretty good, Paul Carrack: Excellent, Fairport: Great ...if you like what they play.

Was anyone else from these hallowed halls there?

Went to see Blues Pills in Belfast a couple of Fridays ago.
One of the best bands I ever saw in 35+ years of going to gigs. If they are near you anytime, see them, I can't recommend them highly enough.
