How about countersinking the backplate at that point and replacing the bolt with a countersunk one with an Allen key head?? It would be flush then.

I was wondering, when just the one bolt is the problem, if it would be possible to use the higher hole of the two holes on the dish mount, instead of the presently used lower hole?
The declination adjustment bolt would then have a downward angle, maybe a bit greater than the present upward angle. But maybe that is also possible.

It's hard to judge from the photo, though, if that way there would not be another 'collision'. So just thinking out loud......

hey guys - thanks for all the suggestions - i have removed the bolt, and CAN now get 54.9e - however, the only TP i can pull in is 12531 H 2500 - i can actually go past peak signal to where signal declines ....at least i tried - however its bordeline and touching the plate - shame they didnt put the gearing system at the back of the motor - however for me, realistically i cannot go much further east due to dish proximity to roof etc....

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

It's not the motor gearbox part that is at fault, but the backplate design. It should be possible to move the reflector forwards and clear the radius with just two steel plates about 3cms long (two holes, one at each end), and two more nuts/bolts. I recall in the packs I used there were a pair of longer plates with one elongated hole that could be used.

The existing declination bolt should be long enough.

These brackets pictured below are the originals that used to be shipped as well as the Channel Master/IRTE plate with Jaeger 1224 motors.
You should be able to cobble up something to do the job from a piece of steel plate.

I think there's no need to make them as long as showed on the picture above .
a difference between the holes of 25 mm will do .
Here a good look of the Jaeger SMR 128G
