Do you mean the self adhesive stuff? I would say paint is a better option. Any other material is surely going to be affected by the heat of the sun in the summer, it probably all crease etc..anyone tried vinyl wrapping there dish? got a white 1.5 thats need to go dark gray.
the same wrap they use on cars. i could go to the length of dusting off an old spray gun and hooking it up to a compressor. When i painted the 1.1 the materials and paint (primer, basecoat, clearcoat, matt additive, hardener/ solvent water/thinner) would have cost £100+ and that was back in the 00'sDo you mean the self adhesive stuff? I have used a Johnsons water based outdoor paint on my Channel Master 1.8 with a roller, great finish, absolutely no flaking or peeling..I know the wrap you are talking about, never used or tried it so can't comment how it would work.the same wrap they use on cars. i could go to the length of dusting off an old spray gun and hooking it up to a compressor. Not quite the stuff I used, I used the wood and metal exterior (see picture) covers well. A 750ml tin I used didn't quite do two coats on the 1.8. been on three years now, no problems.hxxps://www.johnstonesdc.com/paint-woodcare/exterior-paint/exterior-trim/exterior-water-based-satin-paint-zinsser-exterior-water-based-satin-ral-7016-1l
in satin. how was the coverage. will 1tr be enough for both sides?
It had a jet wash, let thoroughly dry first then a sanding then applied with a roller at the front brush at the back.Have you rubbed it down prior to application or just applied it straight on?
What grit sandpaperIt had a jet wash, let thoroughly dry first then a sanding then applied with a roller at the front brush at the back.
depends on the surface condition, if you just want to key it it up p800 wet n dry will get rid of previous orange peel. for the back scotch brite. What grit sandpaper
yeah i added mat addative to the last dish so it was super matted. far more than a stock dish. this zinsser is satin so not expecting pure matt. Will skiff over it with a scotch brite if the satin aint matt enoughI use marine epoxy paint,(two part) it out lasts most outdoor rated house paint by years....A flat base paint is the best choice as you don't want to overheat the LNB when the Sun gets in front of the dish, remember it has a focal point and is facing the South.
Nice Precision dish!Zinsser 7016 on the back of the dish, just used a red scotch brite to scuff it up. The front will need sanding and a few dinks sorting but thats for another weekend. weather has been kind the last few weekends.
