I think the 4 bolt mount point design may have been ordered like that as a custom job from Precision?
Or, an an aftermarket modification to get the dish mounted on an H type frame for fixing to a Jaeger 1224 motor?

I am leaning towards the dish being custom ordered like that, otherwise there would be the remnants of the three mount points on the rear ring.

There was a similar design to a Precision mounting ring if I remember correctly on the 3.7m Precision dish owned by "subman" ?

was gonna search here to see if theres any other 1.5s with 3 or 4 mounting points. the 4 bolt mounting points make is as simple as can be to attach a jaeger 1224

I have a 1.5m Precision dish with the 3 mounting points, ordered it direct from Precision.
The three mounting points were the standard design.

sanded the dish face, 2 little dents and 1 high spot (tapped it down) Sanded with mirca 320 grit, thought i had some 240's laying around. Found the filler in the shed but couldnt find the hardener to go with it. so the dent repairs will have to wait another day. Weather looking a bit naff the next few weeks :(
Hardly looks like ive touched it with the sander. its now smooth. Sanded it really shows off the spun aluminium.

Wont paint it until a few days before it goes up. Still got the 1224 motor to sort out.

It's looking good, those small dents are so tiny they will not impact performance.
Did you use a sponge interface pad on the sander? I found using one of those allows the sander to follow the parabolic profile of the dish.

yeah, interface pads perfect for following the dish profile. Being from a car repair background those little dents will bug me if i leave them. Will be looking for them evertime i peer out the kitchen window. Good to know they wont effect performace
