Eutelsat 7B to 16°E

I haven’t kept track of what has changed at 16.0E since the transponders moved to Eutelsat 16D. That’s why I can’t say what’s new and what’s gone from Eutelsat 16A, though this doesn’t apply to other regions. Only a scan at this position can show me what has changed.

The signal seems to have remained at the same level in my area, and most of the transponders are on their old slots. I’ve also detected the multiplex at 12589 V, 146, 3/4 – Radio Gdańsk, and 10954 H, 355, 2/3 – Radio Joe.

But it’s best to let the spectrum ‘speak’ for itself about what works and what doesn’t on the new Eut 16D, at least in my area.

Were you expecting new channels? Its a satellite migration to allow 16A to be punted off elsewhere, (or junked), nothing else

I thought they would pick up what was on 7E (Kurds and a few others ) & put that on 16E,so 16E would have more channels & 7E little or nothing.... am I wrong?

It was a simple satellite swap - just like any other formal satellite replacement that we have seen over the last 20 years.

The only reason for lots of channels to suddenly swap satellites is in case of an in orbit failure

Here the reception is a little bit strange. Now i can receive two low sr frequencies with radios
but in some other frequencies signal is significantly less now. In 11554v which is the strongest
here i had 17.0 db now is 16-16.5 db. For feeds i guess i will have to check more. According to
coverage map i am SE europe i was expecting a little better i think.
*Reception report 240 prime focus multiple lnb (centre 7e).
I am planning to put 13e in the centre so maybe reception then improves.
