I'm new to sat tv, I see all the time on this forum about software patches, and cams, but haven't much of a clue what it all means, I know a cam is a modul that fits into the front of your receiver and some sort of card fit into it, but thats about it, and I haven't a clue about patches or how...

can you tell me a good sat finder for a novice, I've seen them on ebay for a fiver, but I think all they do is get you a signal, I don't think it tells you what sat you have found, is there a sat finder that tells you what satellit you have found or are they to expensive for the normal home user

when I look at a satellite site it might as well be in another language because I don't understand what I'm looking at, I think I need to be able to understand what every thing on Lyngsat means, I really do appreciate your help I hope I'm not being a pain,

how do I find the nearest satellite to my longitude? my longitude is 1.43:44E (1.72893) I've been to _http://www.lyngsat.com but I don't know what to look for to find my rearest satellite to be honest I haven't a clue

Don't I first have to get a signal? as I say the card is saying no signal , I thought the DVBviewer is for viewing the picture
