Hi there! I bagged a Ross DVB-S2 1201 HD Portable Satellite Kit from ALDI a few weeks ago for the knock down price of £19.99!
Been playing with it pointed to 19.2e for some free HD.
In my manual it states:
"5.5 USB Module
A USB Device can be connected to the USB Port located on the Side of...
Ooh thanks Analogue sat will give that a go. May be a little while now before I get to try as the house gets pretty chilly using the dish out of a window/or on the patio -will this thread remain open for a few months?
(Also admins feel free to amend post title to read 35cm)
Hi rolfw!
I tried 11895 V & 12168 V. I think these are also TPs on the other sats so when I got a signal I quickly switched to some 19.2 or 28.2 presets and alas it confirmed I'd actually hit one of the strong sats sitting either side.
Hello! :)
I have managed to receive the following satellites with my Porty sat kit (ALDI 35cm dish)
42E Turksat
39E Hellas Sat
28.2E Astra
19.2E Astra
13E Hotbird
But I can't seem to pin down Astra 3B at 23.5E; I just keep bouncing between 28.2 and 19.2E. I have checked that there are...
Thanks for the manuals :-righton fascinating stuff this BSB System. Wow! On page 11 of the manual a Personal Message Screen is described -do any BSB users have experience of this function?
I guess the data port was for firmware updates?
On this webpage you can see the renamed Marcopolo (to...
It makes me wonder how long they broadcast the attached message after pulling the plug on the operation. Anyone remember?
I see lots of new BSB clips have been added here: _http://www2.tv-ark.org.uk/skytv/bsb.html
Thanks Informer101 for the info.
Says in the manual software update via Astra 19.2 E
Has anyone had a box update using this method? Surely you would have to be tipped off when these are broadcast if 19.2e isn't your satellite of choice. My only experience with OTA updates is with Freeview gear...
Finally managed to align to Hotbirds at 13e see attached grabs:). Noticed audio can slip out of sync on some channels. -Does anyone have any theories on why this is happening? Most signals are around 40-50% so don't if it is poor signal or the receiver?
You can, but it's just as much if not more expensive than the ALDI gear. Saying that, to get a separate dish with carry bag and tripod would be an advantage.

Back in this Thursday at a cheaper price too.
Moved house since last post. Set my dish up on top of a wheelie bin (also with bungee cord to secure as sucker is a bit naff). Always get Astra 28.2e and 19.2e...
Here's another one in Bristol (Avonmouth).
Also, this electrical store _http://tinyurl.com/49fnwrz located on the Gloucester Road in Bristol has only upgraded it's signage within the last few years, all the way through the 90s and early 00s it had a BSB logo (within a diamond) on the shop sign...
