you really need to make offer on ebay - he might not check here often
It was only a throw away offer of £200 delivered for the dish to call his bluff about scrapping it and to save it in the event he really would destroy it.
If he had accepted, I would have gone ahead but in reality it was unlikely my offer would be taken up.
I got the "special discount of £420" sent via the eBay messaging system but did not reply to it.
The dish was originally listed at £390 with "Make an Offer" at that price. To me, that indicates £300 to £350 collected would probably have bought the dish at that time.
Seller comes along, reads the positive comments on this forum and decides to jack shaft the price up to £490.
Dish unsold, seller sending discount messages to all eBay watchers, whole thing is a farce that has backfired on the seller.
If it had been left at £390 with Make an Offer, chances are it would have sold and be gone by now?
