How much does this thing weigh?!

I estimate 1.3 ton at the moment, I will be adding another .3 to make sure, I need 1.07 ton according to this at 60 degree my latitude is lower than that so shouldn't need as much, best safe than sorry though,

Wind Force @ 60° @ 100 MPH: 2400 lbs.

Yes very sad John, but a lesson learnt I guess and sounds like no one was injured, I cringe when I see some installs people don't realise the force of the wind on a dish,

This is not going anywhere, I hope :D

But those constructions looks very wobble to me , nothing I would make that way .

Ok back on track, anyone considering using eye bolts their perfectly safe and stable, this is the recommended safe working use, the breaking strain is 75% greater than listed below.

Any chance of a few wider-scope pics, so we can see how the dish fits in with whatever surrounds it, in terms of other houses, potential obstructions and the like?

Two trees are my main problem one E one W, the runway is positioned so the dish can be moved around them, its one of the main reasons ive gone to all this trouble

Blade,

Could you please let me know the supplier of the 26mm threaded rod and eye bolts? I hope to get a pallet mount on castors fabricated from steel box section and steel plate later this year when the weather improves. It might be useful if I got some of the metal ordered ready for the levelling system.

Thx

Hello moonbase, the 26mm threaded rod is on the base levelling system, I bought threaded rod cut it in two and welded a nut on the top,

The eye bolts on the second fine tuning/leveling system are M16, they can be bought from anywhere I sourced them local to me,

All paint had washed of this morning :-dohnearly a full tin at £14 :( :-lol

Decided to leave painting while no sign of rain, installed winch for moving base up down runway, need to make a few rollers so I can move it both ways

Yep, correct blade. = £1500 including vat, no paint, pick up from factory, choice of 600mm or 1200mm backring with no difference in price.

I think that's a good price if you start comparing it to channel master, are you having one ?

John,

The price for the 2.2m has increased from £1050 in the quote I received in late 2015 to £1530 in your quote today, both figures excluding VAT. Thats almost a 50% increase in 15 months. You deffo gonna need the hammer on that piggy bank now although I have been reliably informed you are well wedged up and can easily afford it :)

:-lol

Yes, compared to a channel master it is a good price and the spun aluminium antenna are a lot easier to handle. I am not sure if there are many other manufacturers of one piece spun aluminium antenna in this size range, your DH (USA) is one, possibly Kathrein in Europe and Elite in the UK?
