7th Oct, 22. - Iv'e set up the dish [2.2] & tweeked for ESPN this morning, North Nottinghamshire, with the intent of doing monitoring throughout the day. Using the Promax & EBSPro for measurements
Keep in mind that other factors ie: uplink conditions etc will play a part in my downlink captured measurements

Ist measurement @ 8.30am. Fluctuating signals / in & out of lock / clear sky / Promax-7.8dB-8.1dB. / EBSPro-8dB
9.30am - 8.3dB Promax / EBSPro-8.3dB
11.00am - 8.3 to 8.6dB Promax / 8.3dB EBSPro. Maintaining lock but gusty wind conditions causing dish movement.
12.00 - 8.6 dB
1.30pm - Promax 8.6
*Noted- viewing Promax , transponders either side of 3980 L are stable with no alterations in signal amplitude but 3980 L ESPN was altering up and down in signal strength.
8pm - Promax, signal down to 6.5 -7dB ... unable to lock.

Yes

I used to lose it sometimes when the FEC was 7/8 but it has been OK since it went to 3/4
@scopus what DB reading are you getting on FS1,2,3 - mines 10.5db - whats your reading on these, when you're getting ESPN too...?

Top class dish alignment from one of the top men in the UK on the dx scene.
Particularly impressive considering it is with a 1.8m dish and located part way Ooop North approaching the unfavourable reception areas of the UK.

There is something weird about the behaviour of this frequency for me - don't know if it's interference related or not at all but it sure acts strange. Look on the vid how the Tp's either side of 3980 L are stable whilst 3980 L is up and down in strength at random ??. Why are @Manikm909 & myself experiencing this ? , we both have close 5G towers ? ... answers on a post card

Re: the double or treble repeat postings from me iv'e been having problems with and others i think - if i press 'Post reply' and the error "Ooops there's a server problem" i immediately press right mouse button 'reload' which then clears the error message and shows me it sent the post 1st time. PC is running Win10 Pro.

something weird happened yesterday . ..... about 3.15pm - i lost ALL signal for about 10 mins...

i went outside, and the sun was BRIGHT and facing right at the dish, it was lowish in the sky. and was about 40.5w location..

could the SUN have wiped out signal, seems illogical but also logical.

the signal came back afterwards, same as it was 8.2-8.5db - was during Chelsea match. i tried other channels at the time, zero signal.

It's the time of year for solar outage, where the sun is directly behind the satellite. If there was any shadows on the dish face at that time it indicates it doesn't have a clear view of the satellite.

I have tested many C-Band LNBs, the "Kaonsat LNB C Band Single Premium KS-N201G 13K" has been the best of them all so far.
It is used by most DX'ers in Germany and everyone is very happy with it.
Source of supply is ebay.com (Indonesia)

Thanks for this information but can you share the lnbs tested against this particular one?
