Sorry for the late reply..Currently 9.0dB with me. Also can confirm the FEC seems to have changed to 3/4 from 5/6

@scopus

The E2 receivers have the potential to synchronise a scanned frequency with parameters stored in their satellites.xml file. There is a setting in the blind scan options to enable/disable this feature.
It might need a side by side scan using a non E2 receiver, an E2 receiver and a TBS card to check if the E2 receiver is synchronising the FEC.

The satellites.xml files are sometimes created by harvesting data from sites like Lyngsat, I think the versions of forum member @Huevos use this method. If Lyngsat has FEC of 3/4 listed and the receiver satellites.xml is based on that then the synchronisation of frequency parameters would reflect Lyngsat.

I had no signal this morning with the 5/6 FEC, re scanned with 3/4 with an advanced scan changing the FEC manually, then it worked OK

I just stuck silver coloured duck tape on both sides of my chopping board plate. And I got 1 db gain ....I then tried with black same result. I then tried making it thicker....made it worse

Thanks for the report on your experiments, ..... I,m intending to do some plate tinkering again myself - during the autumn weeks ahead ... very fickle this plate business. :-)

ok, as a test - i mounted CBAND lnb in central position - and i managed to lock ESPN fairly easily.
on my Octagon Sf8008 - it was reading 8.2db - i noticed around 8pm signal goes, but its back now 9.30am, at strength 8.2/5db
i think i will try the polo pipe in this position today and see if i can improve on that.
the one thing ive noticed is that due to @RimaNTSS holder, i can fine tune the LNB position, this i cannot do when its above KU lnb using my adapted holder (its in a fixed position) - so maybe this is why i have better success when mounted in central position - its not actually why, but its cos im limited in adjustment when its above the KU and in central position i need to use @RimaNTSS holder

i ordered a new cheapie LNB from Aliexpress, and its performing better than my titanium - getting around 9db now on ESPN.
sometimes 9.2
its also DUAL output, AND its not a 5G filtering one, and im NOT getting interference, odd, but great!
its 3.4-4.2 ghz range too - and not 3.7-4.2 - very happy

There is possibly something odd with those filtering Tit's. I stuck the WiMax one I got 'ere on a Promax and did a wide span scan on 38.0 East.
There was a reet hefty slope on the Promax spectrum that is not present with Ku-Band signals. I am not sure yet if it is an artefact from the Tit

I need to repeat the wide span scan using some of them C-Band Astrotel's I bought from USA to see if the same slope is present on them.
