There are reasonably clear skies at the moment and I managed to lock another of the Turkey beam frequencies from 42.0 East.
The new one is 12329 H with SR6666. I have attached a few pictures below of the newly locked frequency.
Updated list of frequencies locked from the Turkey Beam.
1. 11977 H, SR27500
2. 12015 H, SR27500
3. 12245 H, SR27500
4. 12329 H, SR6666 (new, today)
5. 12336 H, SR5520
6. 12346 H, SR9600

Just as a one off / off topic post MB,
I modded a modern cheap pll lnbf yesterday and knocked up a temp Precision/Elite scalar Ku feed that will slot into the front of the Cband waveguide throat and sit at the FP of the 2.2 Elite reflector and then point it all at 42east and see what i can make of these signals, if anything, up here North of Nottingham.
@John
Nice, that is an interesting little project you have there.
How are you going to secure the Ku feed in place, some type of tri-locator bracket that can use the three M8 threaded holes in the Ku feed?
More pics please once you have the final mock up...
Back to the Turkey beam from 42.0E, I think that your best chance of a signal lock may be with 11977 H, SR27500 and 12245 H, SR27500.
Based on my location, these two frequencies are stronger than any of the others I have locked. However, these beams that are fringe in the UK have some odd characteristics and your location might be different.
You should certainly detect this pair of frequencies with your Promax Ranger.
One point to consider, some of the frequencies from the West beam of 42.0E are also used by the East/Turkey beams on the opposite polarity.
As the West beam frequencies are very strong they can cause a bit of cross polarisation unless the opposite polarity has been nulled out.
Initially, I found this was interfering with fringe reception from the East/Turkey beams until I adjusted the skew more accurately.
There are a decent number of frequencies from the East beam of 42.0 East that I have locked but I will finish messing about with the Turkey beam before posting any results from the East beam.
To start off iv'e used 755mm FP to 5mm within throat of the Precision feed - i'll have a couple of tweaks once i get the bodge of a SMA to F adapter cable to play ball - iv'e got every SMA Male to F female adapter but not the SMA Female to F Female adapter i require..... the bodge of an adapter cable is playing up so need to sort that out now.@John
How much nearer to the dish is the opening rim of the Ku feed compared to the opening rim of the polo pipe?
Depending on the dish parabolic profile it might need to be ~5mm or more closer to the dish for Ku-Band than for C-Band?
Well done on your results M.B. ... another case of North - South differences ... clear skies here today for a change so had a look here .. have tried here for Turkish beam before without success -
Managed just one lock 11977 H, SR27500 .. with the 2.4.C.M. and F15 receiver .... the Octagon SX88 Optima will not lock it ? - puzzling - as its not particularly borderline on the F15.
Well done on your results M.B. ...
