What size dish are you using please?
Christina was originally a 1.8m PF ..but was modified to roughly 2.1 m ..
Sadly the focus was optimised to carry 2 lnbs neither of which are physically at the sweet spot ..
..thus they share the focus about 1 degree each side of it..

My Satellite Setup
OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

Custom built PC
My Location
Deep in the Boonies in the central Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
I find 19 active transponders on this bird, with 188 channels, of them only 39 are not scrambled, I will compose a TP list (later) of what I get at this end.

It looks like we all (almost all) can see this bird, me from half way around the world from most of you on that side of the big pond.

I'm watching a French news channel right now, it's "France24" on TP 4118V SR 27494, the English one.

My SNR on this bird is 64%, not bad for the dish being almost level with the ground.

I scan in excess of 300 channels on this sat of which most are encrypted, db level from 13.9-14.6.

Does that include the radio channels, as I don't usually scan for them.

I have a varying signal on that one, but within parameters for a good stable picture, what I suspect is happening is the 58W is so close to the ground for me that the "H" transponders are getting ground wave interference, looks like it's time to level out some mountain ranges.

I have no problems with the "V" transponders, this may be why I do not have as many channels showing up as what Costatct has.

Nice and sunny today, so thought I'd try and blind scan 58W...

Managed to catch 54 TV channels and 5 radio on F15, some that I haven't seen before. A lot of transponders are visible but nothing that a 1.8m dish won't be able to pull in.

BTW, the TM5402 M3 pulled in only 50 TV channels and 5 radio.... and it's not even opening a single PV channel :(

fed up messing with 55w and little success, so being sunny this afternoon moved to 58w
got 225 tv, from 45 transponders, a lot more pleasing than 55w
45 free to air, though I suspect the keys are available for the powervu channels at least

Locking this transponder (just) ... but suffering too much picture freezing to be watchable here for me ...
frustrating ..... :(

Almost clear skies here now ... so signal has improved a little ...
Watching Animal Planet with very occasional freezing at 9.5 - 9.7 db .... :)

What is this transponder like these days? I just tried it and F15 is giving me around 8.6dB, though I did get a lock at 9.0dB there.

Also, what's 3840V transponder like? I used to lock it on the 1.5m Gibby but it looks like it's gone down in strength. Again, locked it enough to scan it in but not enough to watch it (KCTV on there).

Re: 3840 V ..... strangely none of my receivers or pc cards will lock this although it's a pretty strong signal with me up here in North Notts. Analyser gives me 9.7dB , SR 27690, 7/8, QPSK , at the mo.
