Interesting idea to have plate removed, will try it, has an old corotor.
Must get just get lose my present corotor, the screw is properly secured, any idea how I will get the screw lose?

can you show a picture of the screw that is a problem to loosen ? maybe its a different arrangement to mine ?
the plate is easy to remove -- it just pulls out -
its not so easy to put back in !! - great care needs to be taken so as not to damage its parts --
i,v just been replacing mine and taken some photos to show --
when replacing the centre pin may need guiding slightly with a finger --- the last picture shows the tip of a screwdriver (marked with a red dot) used to guide the orange slot onto its peg . before pushing the plate all the way in.
