I'd have to beg Crazycat that there should be an addition to the lnb -type- list ..
ie Directv Low band with sup2400 ..
or simply a scale reverse button.
rgds
VS
There is already a "scale reverse" possibility in Crazyscan:
Selecting LNB "Ka-band" gives LOF 18750 and range 19700...20200 MHz
Selecting LNB "Ka-band Inverto" gives LOF 21200 and same range 19700...20200 MHz
Note the Inverto option uses an LOF above the receiving range.

Long ago in this thread I suggested your case has an effective LOF of 20450 MHz.
So did you try that already after selecting "Ka-band Inverto"?

No I didn't LVDH ..but will try this now ...
I hadnt realised the special inverto selection option used a reversed scale ..but thinking about it ..
That makes perfect sense..
Cheers buddy.

The 'special' inverto lnb option does not appear to allow it's parameters to be altered outside the range defined by Crazycat ..

So I guess this option is denied me..
Doh!

No sir!
First set LOF1 to 20250 MHz, then you can set the Start freq 18300 MHz, and End freq 18800 MHz.

Sorry but I can't get down to these numbers with the inverto lnb option selected ...
I tried inputting the values directly ...they just reverted automatically ..so I tried waking the values down with the up down arrows ..
I cant set the LO below 21001 or indeed the start or end range values below 18851 ...
So either I am doing something totally wrong ..or in the version of crazyscan I'm running 1.0.1.87
these values have set in stone lower restrictions..
Sorry if I appear thick on this issue ..but I only speak/type as I find..
??

My Crazyscan version is still 1.0.1.70...
The scan that you can see (sorry forgot to change the sat name) is Astra 19E, 11200...11700 H, so the IF range is 1450...1950 MHz, that is shown mirrored as 18800...18300 MHz.
I checked the programs on two transponders at both ends to make sure all is correct:
18329H is 11671H, 18756H is 11244H.

Yep ..the version I'm running even has a different layout to yours..
I have to use this version as it has the Raw diseqc control console added ..
I need this to turn the SUP2400 on and off ..so can't revert to an older version.
doh!

OK then, doh indeed!
Please tell Crazycat about this, especially for Ka the "old" flexibility is needed!

He sadly has only posted on Sats UK about 3 times in total ..but I searched out one of his posts and PMed him ..
Hopefully he'll read this thread ..rather than try and explain it all over again at Ricks.
wish me luck.

Got a visitor ...
Higher up the band ...ie lower on the scale ..
it is H not V ..and sadly not strong enough to be locked ..
But my guess ..
it's either Teleippica or the feed recently found by Onacila listed at flysat 18760H

I'm currently in conversation with Crazycat ..and he suggested a special version of crazyscan to try..
but one of the downloads refuses to open ...
maybe my version of winrar is at fault?
would one of you kindly download the rar from this link:-
http://crazycat69.narod.ru/sattelite/StreamReaderEx/test/StreamReaderExEx-BDA.rar
and see if it unpacks for you ..
then zip it up again with winzip and post it here ?
Very much appreciated.
VS
btw ..Crazycat has downloaded it himself and no probs unpacking it at all..
The problem appears to be mine ..but I can't solve it easily ..
most confusing..??

Thanks guys ..
Thats all I needed..
I have the files now..
Most odd ..neither Winrar or 7 zip would unpack it..
Looks like my ISP might have cut the file short on download..
Bizzare in the extreme...???

My grateful thanks to Crazycat for helping me get this 1.0.1.88 special version running ..
The key ..make sure ALL correct and relevant files dependancies are in place before running it..
Streamreader etc
Make sure the most recent BDA driver is installed ..
Then I was able to use the Inverto lnb option ..and modify to suit ..as it uses the reversed display relative to scan.
LO 20451 (20450)
range start 18300 ...end 18800
select diseqc console and send raw cmd E2 03 00 to switch SUP-2400 on ..and scan

All correct now ..
Nice ..

..notice on the scan above how the open feed responds in both Horizontal and Vertical to the data peaks ..
In other words ..it is Still basically a circular polarised construction to the SL3 and open feed.
BUT also note how the middle peak is predominant in H (blue) ..whereas the 3rd peak is predominant in the Vertical (red)
Which is correct as 18411 IS Horizontal ... & 18509 IS Vertical ..
So the bias of the angled positioning of the SL3 is effective ..and resolution of Linear signals IS possible ..though only because there are no H and V signals using the same frequencies.
It works ..that's the main thing.
..and you can use a slotted feed to increase the bias effect ..but at a cost ..
ie reducing overall signal gain.

So ..if you want a cheap way into ka (low and mid band circular or linear) ..then import an SL3 & SUP-2400 (there is a mod to get the 2400 on permantly)..they are cheap enough ..and set about testing your destruction and re-construction skills.
Everything you need is in this thread.

..Now this is curious ..
Attached is a scan of Hylas 1 at 33.5W.
The upconvertor is set as off raw diseqc command E2 02 00
..I had to create a new setting ...as I could no longer use the previous scale I made ..
Originally left it reverse scanned as before ..but made no sense to the scale ..
19200 >20200
Ka band B
According to Flysat all Avanti /AOL boadband transpnders are grouped roughly 19744 > 20052 .
Turns out I now have to scan forwards on the band B section of the SL3..
From this I can assume that reversed scale neccessary when scanning ka band A IS indeed down to the SUP-2400 ..as it's redundant when turned off ..
So a new scale was made under DirecTV lnb setting ..
LO 18050 ..which is what I believed it was all along ..and this allows a scale to be set 19200 >20200 ...and the broadband peaks now grouped at the top end as expected..
Sadly I cannot correctly identify the peaks referencing Flysat ..as they are mostly out of date ..
There are some unlisted peaks carrying SRs of 10000 or lower ..
Again ..another odd feature as these peaks are behaving as though linear and not circular ..as Flysat have them listed LHR RHR.
So ..either they are indeed Linear and listed incorrectly ...or have changed polarity...or the SL3 now handles circular in a most odd way ..since the septum feed was removed and the lnb rotated through 45 degrees..
Anyway ..here is the scan..
The one conclusion I can state for certain ..Flysat is well out of date on this bird in Ka B
