How come you get so much Spam, JE?
Maybe going to/visiting dubious sites, and bad spamfilter
How come you get so much Spam, JE?
Possibly due to using the same email address for many years
(was quite important whilst I was still working as I was registered with lots of agencies)
Not visited any such sites that I know (not that way "inclined") - and been using Kaspersky (as well as VM's own) Spam filters for several years, so should not be that, or at least I hope so.Maybe going to/visiting dubious sites, and bad spamfilter
"too much trouble" and I can live with the "interesting" results - and that means I can continue to "amuse" you all with what comes upAh, then you know the resolution ;)
I take a similar approach - but I'm not sure what is flagging those messages as SPAM - is it the VM ISP system or Kaspersky (having trouble running down exactly which part of the Kaspersky Internet Security Suite is flagging them up)?I notice that the headers were annotated **SPAM** so they are being flagged up by the ISP or email supplier as possible spams. That's not a problem for me either as I sometimes get those in my inbox (possibly flagged a bit too zealously as some genuine ones get marked as well) and can inspect them judiciously. There are also the ones that go straight into my spam folder which I glance at before consigning them to oblivion.
No, I'm using Outlook 2010 on both machines for my normal VM Blueyonder a/c and my gmail a/c.I think, but am not sure, that it is the email client that you use.
I suspect that you might be using webmail as that is what I use - in my case Yahoo.
Actually, Kaspersky does not appear to establish a dedicated SPAM folder in Outlook on either m/c , and so all it seems to do is to flag the messages as SPAM, and not divert/block them - this page explains how it seems to work (and I have set the Kaspersky filters to block anything seeming to be "dangerous").Now here's a thing: my wife and I both use Yahoo webmail for our Yahoo email addresses. We are both on the emailing list for various clubs and there's one that we both subscribe to where the headers have **SPAM?** when sent to me but not her. They don't end up in the Spam folder so I can't click Not Spam however I have added the sending address to my address book and it STILL ends up with **SPAM?** added to the header - but not always! My wife has not added to her address book but has never had **SPAM?** added to the header so go figure!
That could happen, as I understood before I did it - we will see!So now you've confirmed your E Mail address is active and can expect an even bigger deluge of Spam.
I never click on any links on E mails, always go in through the front door on the the site itself, and certainly not on on E mails that look like spam in the first place! Why give yourself headache? That could happen, as I understood before I did it - we will see!
So, maybe even more "stuff" to amuse you
